Re: Brisbanes

I bought a Black Edition 5000+ x2 and had the same crashing with it and RMClock. I ended up selling the 5000+ since I didn't have time to futz with it. It was really unfortunate, since I wanted the ability to go up to 3 GHz when I needed it (encoding), but clock at 2 GHz normally, and 1 GHz at idle...

I tried 1 stick each and swapped them. Still the same thing.

I did read about my particular motherboard and Memtest errors depending on the BIOS version. I'm looking into it.

So far, I haven't had any crashes.

The CPU is <30 at all times. I ran Memtest via USB optical drive and via the PATA channel. Got some type of interruption which I saw as an error. I RMA'ed it last Friday and got it back today. Ran the test again and got the exact same error. Hmm...I'm not sure what to make of this but I thank you al...

At school at the moment but I'll just add... This system has been running fine for about a year. I did an inspection of the motherboard and power cables and nothing looks burned and no funny smells. The yellow goop is also on parts of the heatsink (Earthwatts) and on top of the what looks like capac...

What happens when a power supply overheats?

I have an Antec NSK3480 and for whatever reason, the computer decided it wanted to shut down, like if I just pulled the power cord. Ultimately, I think I damaged the Earthwatts power supply and it overheated. I saw yellow melted "goop". Anyway, I got a Corsair HX520 on sale and it worked for about 4...

Hmm...30 dollars more than the other 512 MB versions. For 229, you could get the Gigabyte 3870. I'd like to get this video card because it would block the slot above the x16. For whatever reason, my motherboard goes: x1 x16 PCI PCI ...and I use both PCI slots. But then again, I think it's cheaper th...

I don't think the z-5300 is even sold anymore. I used to have the 5300e and the speakers connect to the subwoofer via RCA cables. The cables are permanently attached to the speakers so you can't exchange the cables. I assume that's what "hardwired" is. And I don't know if this is still going on or m...

I just bought one and picked it up today. On a side note, I didn't know Antec released another enclosure named the MX-100 which seems to be fanless and has no eSATA which I saw sitting on the shelves. Anyway...the fan is really loud. It is louder than my PC which has two really loud Seagate drives a...

I think what I did is the same as suspending but they are Seagate drives and are loud anyway... I also think MikeC suggested this as well. I removed the bottom hard drive holders and simply screwed in the hard drive as normal so the drives dangle. Hard drive temperatures remained the same; maybe wen...

I don't know if this has been mentioned but there's now a side vent on the NSK3480 similar to the other SLK towers.

I've seen it on the Newegg pictures and in the mechanical drawing on the product web page.

According to the Antec website, the NSK3480, 4480, 6580 are for now for sale at the Antec store. It looks like the 4480 and 6580 have the Earthwatts while the 3480 does not. What is confusing is on the 3480 page is that one part says high efficiency power supply while the other says it includes the ...

Most ITX boards come with a standard PCI slot so they should work. Just an ITX case might not support full height cards but you can stick ITX boards in any m/ATX case so it shouldn't be a problem.
