You have a DVD slot in your wall?
Only long cables :) I could have set up a slot there, now that you say it, it would have been nicer.

What would you do to get it better?

I've given a deep thought for this positive or negative now... and i have finally given it my own vote too. For gaining something like 1 dB I'm not going to choose underpressure + regular cleaning or almost impossible sealing. And you might also loose that 1 dB if you forget the cleaning :) I also t...

First things first

To make a silent computer from a scratch, it's always a compromised solution between 1. dB level 2. performance 3. heat (long lasting) 4. power consumption 5. price Before you go on reading, you should put these in a right order for your personal needs, since you just can't have all of them. 1st: I ...

Those temperatures are great compared to my 1.4 GHz CPU with 63 celsius. I think I made my old computer just too silent, and now I'm letting it be and just waiting for it to die since i have a new project going on. How is your ambient temperature?

I builded a no cost totally silent system this way: I moved the noisy computer to another room, drilled holes to the wall for screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers and DVD and stuffed the holes with some foam. If you have some empty room / closet next to your desk, that's the cheapest way. Only problem ...

Sound like a problem with one of the memory slots in your MB, at least i have not heard about that kind of a problem before. Or have you tried to put your memory sticks to slots 2 & 4 only? And to make sure, are all your memory sticks same type?

I did have a low budget TV-system with a win-TV NOVA PCI card, but I didn't get myth to work with it, ending up using a hauppauge TV software in winXP. Nowadays im getting all channels true IPTV, and i'm using a NOKIA mobile phone as the remote control for both the IPTV and Hauppauge. Phone is possi...

FWIW.....Terminology/translation. The term "positive pressure" is usually used instead of "over-pressure" on English computer forums. Likewise "negative pressure" means "under-pressure". I'm not sure if I'm getting everything in his posts, perhaps through a translation problem. Translating finnish ...

Thanks, I read your article right away. Dividing the whole chamber with a single duct seems great, making two wind tunnels from front to back. Does your system actually need that top hole at all? And your way of using a fan in the PSU chamber (putting it in the middle of it) seems also great. I'm st...

Overpressured build with P182

Hello to you and all the others too. I'm a new user to this forum - with some odd ideas. My nature denies me to do things same way with others, even thou they have made it better :) Eternal seeker of a new way. My components (all laying on a table so far): CASE: Antec P182 MB: Abit X38 quadGT (quest...

Older seasonic 350W or newer seasonic 380W would probably be worth consideration in your system? If your need is around 180W, the idle and load consumption's probably fits into the 20-80% cap mentioned in post above

About frequencies (you might already know this) is important to notify those double levels (120Hz, 240Hz, 480Hz, 960Hz) which show in your map too and are all caused by HD. What is important to check that the whole case is not peak-resonating at any of those frequencies. You can check it with a spea...

Hello Mike

I'd be interested to read some results about NEW CASES in the market, like
- antec P190
- nexus (all models)
- Lian-Li PC201B / S-80

It would also be interesting to have a comparisation of noise levels with the cheapest (not silent) ATX-midi case in the market, WT-FL07
