5W idle green computer 1Ghz x86 CPU

I finally found a low power x86 computer. I know I can have a ARM Beagle Board or similar with 2W power consumption but I prefer to stay with x86 CPU. I just receive today a Wyse C30LE thin client that I will use as a normal PC with any Linux OS. This is the same as C00LE , C50LE or C90LE the differ...

Yes, I know I may JUST squeeze into the 130W but I would really prefer to have some margin. For example I am not sure how much power Blu-ray burner draws. Some Sony specs state: POWER CONSUMPTION +5V 1.4A max., +12V 1.5A max. which is quite a lot. But that may be just peak power and also it is for ...

If you want to use a i5-661 and 5570 that will be 60W + 40W so you can still have 20W for one green HDD and a DVD for a max power consumption of 120W so I think that one of my PSU will be enough and it will be a bit less than 50$ shipped to Europe. The idle power of your system will be about 35 to 4...

I need to agree with Mike that if you need a 220W PSU you will need at least a fan.
Can you give a description of what you want to power with this PSU.

Re: Dell U2311H 33W typ - S-IPS at a reasonable wattage and

U2311H No reviews out there, yet...and still only 82% CIE gamut (100% sRGB). Not bad there is also the U2211H the 22" version 1.5" less with the same IPS and 22W typical. And Dell is not an LCD panel manufacturer so I expect to see more IPS LCD on the market this year. For now I will keep my NEC 20...

I did not read everything but the reason you see no change is that the motherboard will under-volt the CPU automatically depending on use so at idle the CPU will be 0.8 to 1V depending on the CPU but when the CPU is loaded 100% the voltage will go back to 1.2V or what is the default setting. If you ...

Thanks for testing. and Yes 4550 is better because it uses DDR3 so memory bandwidth is the most important factor at least for the ATI cards. Is a bit stupid that they pair powerful GPU with much slower memory so that the GPU is less than 20% or 30% utilization. My card will get 2800 at 600/450 so ju...

Re: Measuring watts with a multimeter (VOM)

Sorry but is not true :) You will measure Apparent Power [VA] not Real Power [W]. Real Power will always be smaller or equal with Apparent Power. But Apparent Power can be used as a reference if you do not want to spend the money for a "Kill a Watt".
