thanks - yeah I've been looking at the MSI Passive 8600gt and it's not too bad after all, and it is very cheap here! Much cheaper than the Asus and Gigabyte versions plus it has the heatsink on the back and only uses one slot - which will work nicely with the fans from a P182 and the Thermalright 12...

was it a bitch to install on the ultra?

maybe a fan mounted overhead facing down would work ok?

well the screen goes blank in Oblivion after 10-20secs if I clock my CPU past a FSB of 230mhtz or about 3.2g, but the menu overlays still work. So are you saying that 2D quality is definitely still better with the ATI card? it's slight, but noticable to me just cleaner, defined and more contrasty. Antec sonata, original PSU with Panaflo Mspeed fan swap.
3.2 gighertz overclocked and quiet!

Just need to upgrade my videocard , and it will be fine. But since I have a Zalman heatpipe on my Radeon 9800, it maybe a while before I upgrade

For someone who wants quietness, would the stock Antec rear case fan be a better choice than the Evercool? I found the Evercool quieter and moves more air. the stock fan has faint chirps, moves less air, has a slight "drone" resonance --> possible not from the fan itself but caused by it, since I c...
