Re: Nasty high pitch noise on Samsung F4EG 2TB
I'm pretty happy with mine, just got one yesterday. Running in an external case It's way quieter than the Samsung 103SJ 1TB 7200rpm drive it replaced, and faster! Sounds like it's half the volume. The first 1.2TB is faster than average speed of the 1TB 7.2k drive  Although it's pretty slow af...

That's pretty good - anything around 25-27db under load is not bad at all

MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr II OC - quietest GTX570?
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=159684 I have this, and I can say its the quietest card I've ever owned, even when playing graphics heavy games. Never seen the fans above 44%, they are quieter than my case fans even at that speed, and my case fans are all silent 1200 rpm 120mm fans....

Gainward Phantom GTX570
This might be the quietest, card with decent speed 8) http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/gainward_phantom_gtx570_review/2 You could probably take the fans out and strap a 120mm ontop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFq1OUCMme4 The most impressive thing about the cooler is that it's a sin...

Hi, guys, I need your help. After initial fascination with the case I found quite a lot of little annoying defects in my case. For example: 1) the top front cover with power buttons and I/O ports is not properly aligned with the steel front. It is lower than the steel front by ~ 3 mm and is not hor...

I just dont like those ext temp sensors to check the temps, placed on surface of the chip. Would rather prefer a system that be able to works on the system self temps, much more accurate and reliable, like the motherboard, or via software. Just set a desired temp, and the device may power the fans ...

And I have both stock fans running at 50% of the ULNA adaptors through a fan controller! What ext. fan controller did you get, for managing or switching normal and ULNA modes on NH-D14 fans from outside the case? I guess, using one of this ones http://www.lamptron.com/products/view/Fan_Controller_F...

The NH-D14 is honestly overkill to some extent. I have my i7 930 running at 4.1 ghz, cpu volts at 1.25, and the heatsink never gets hot, barely warm! And I have both stock fans running at 50% of the ULNA adaptors through a fan controller! 1.25v & 4.1 ghz stable(?) on that cpu is quite an accomplish...

The stock fans are not that bad, but the S-Flex 20db model I have here is quite a lot better, but the 1200rpm slipstream I tried in palce of the cases top fan seems to make this faint rattle... You can take the fans out, the 180mm ones, but once you do, you will lose the speed control as the wires ...

Hi, guys! I really enjoyed reading your comments. I am thinking of getting the case, I just love how it looks. I have few questions though. 1) Is it possible to take the HDD cage out in order to put a long, lets say 48-cm radiator on the three fans? Can I just unscrew it or I will have to cut the c...

Well it sure isn't as quiet as the first time I put my Antec Sonata build together. The 1TB 7200rpm HD, emit a pretty annoying low hum. I think it's partly due the HD and partly due the case. At night is's pretty loud in comparison, whereas with the Sonata, you sometimes had to do a double take to s...

Well I bumped my PC up to 4 ghz, slight increase in Vcore CPU voltage, to 1.11 vs 1.13 stock, and afew other settings, and had to decrease the ram multiplier so they ran at 1186 mhz or so, instead of 1:1 with the bus speed to keep them stable. They are rated at 1600mhz, but because I'm using 2 sets ...

I received the case today and it looks really nice! Build quality is very good as expected. Very solid case Enough space inside. Yes a bit deep and somewhat heavy though. But it doesn't seem to be an improved sequel, it's a different thing altogether! Much like the others in the Fortress and Raven series

Can you rotate the Noctua NH-D14 so it faces up when installed in a P183 case?
I'm planning on building a positive pressure P183 system with the NH-D14
1 fan at the back, and 1 in front facing in

well if a PCS is quiet in a passive system, then it is quiet period
The Vapor-x is an overclocked version of the Toxic, so it won't be quiet

The PowerColor 5850 PCS+ might be a good alternative 24+ idle, 32+ under load in a passive system and open case. 5870 PCS+ is at 26.7 idle, and 31.6 load Shut the case and it's going to be a lot quieter. As a point of reference, they also reviewed the HIS HD Radeon 5870 iCooler V Turbo and had it at...

OCZ recently unveiled their latest range of Solid State Drives (SSD), aiming to hit the balance between cost and performance. With only a few exceptions, SSDs haven't received a warm welcome from consumers yet - almost certainly due to the cost, as the price per gigabyte is considerably higher than...

I just installed an 8800GTX in my new E6600 rig. Though it's not an ultra, I think it's safe to say that it's pretty close. The 8800GTX is *quiet* when idling. To give you an idea, I have a modded P180B, with 4x 120 S-flex E fans running at 50%, E6600 @3.2GHz /SpeedStep:2.1GHz, with Thermaltake Ult...
