Trip, I just had a flashback and the product was called Bleem. It actually may be all software based. I'm not sure if it's available anymore. Here's a link I found about it: http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_bleem!.shtml GamingGod, Yes is kinda insane isn't it? When I tell my friends that I modded my...

I just spend like twenty mintues typing out this great response, and now the SPCR server didn't take it and when I hit back it's now all gone. So anyway, it's late and I'll have to make this short and to the point. Wedge, the M1A @ 12V is way too loud (as I've tested it at 12V on my PC before...

Well, now I've got good news: SUCCESS!! :D Things changed on my brother's birthday party. He invited a bunch of guests, one of which was a really nerdy/smart kid. Anyway, I showed him my system and he offered to help. He came over one Saturday and was able to get everything back together (which is d...

I just got a supposedly "2nd Production" Super Tornado 300 and upon installing it, it still gave out the siren whine and the fan failed to start.
This is not good. I'm sending mine out tomorrow as an RMA to Seasonic. I wonder if it will do any good? :(

Funny you should mention September 21 because that's exactly the day I placed my order. I got it from Silicon Acoustics. I have nothing bad to say about them though, Jonathan has alwasy been great to deal with.

Problem with First Production Run of SeaSonic Super Tornados

Hello all, I just installed my Seasonic Super Tornado last night, and found a nasty surprise. Here's the story: > Hi there. I just installed my Seasonic Super Tornado 300 last night. > Unfortunately, it sounded like a small mamal being tortured. After a few > minutes, that eventually stopped but now...

Well thanks Ralf for the info. I'm a little disapointed to hear about the Intel board. It seems like there is no 100% trust worthy company these days. They all seem to have their shit products, some just more than others.

Please note that those products are not available outside of the US. If you look closely at those pages, you will see, "not availabe for export". I called them regarding this, since their shipping policy states they do ship internationally, and the CSR said it was a restriciton placed by Seasonic. I...

I'm going from a 4 pin terminated fan to one of the 5V connections on a Zalman Multi-Connector (ZM-MC1). I could always rewire the 4 pin fan to line up with the 5V pins on the power supply...

grandpa_boris,
Yes Directron does ship to Canada. I've bought a few things from them before. However, they only have a 3->4 power adaptor, whereas I need a 4->3.

Excellent idea dago. Of course I signed it. One thing I did notice however is that my local computer store is selling the Centrino chips as Retail boxed. It says they are 479-pin Micro-FCPGA. So maybe there is a way to get this to run on a desktop, or else why would they be selling these as Retail b...

Good to know Ralph, thanks. They should make some wire covering that is also engineered to reduce EMI. I guess there probably isn't enough EMI though, otherwise they probably already would have. Still, it's nice to have a nice clutter-free case, and anything that helps with that is a welcome addition.

Now I get what you mean. Thanks for the clarification.

Gooserider,
Something that I'm still wondering about myself is what sort of airflow resistance a NON-running fan creates
Interesting question. If you ever find out, please let us all know !! :D

I think you'd probably be better off moving that intake to an exhaust Unfortunately, I don't have two 120mm holes in the back. Just one in the front of my D8000 and one at the back. Or do you mean use both as an exhaust? If so, since they are blowing in opposite directions (albeit very far away and...

These sticks are long !! However, they are thin and rubber, therefore their whole length is not useful. As a matter of fact, in the Verax instruction manual, it says to trim down the excess to desired lengh, which I have done. How do they work? That's kinda a tough question to answer. Basically, in ...

Rusty, The way I see it is this: Capitalism is based on competition (invisible hand = lowers prices etc.) -> competition leads to advertising -> advertising leads to lies / manipulation / "statistics". Good discussion. I just want to voice my support with Mike's boycott Intel idea. And yes, the Athlon64 does look like it has the potential to be the next generation CPU of choice for Silent PC enthusiasts, especially once a lot of 64 bit software gets written for it (or at least the stuff that needs...

Anyone tried the "fan sticks" from Directron? These fan sticks are actually made by Verax. I have both the EAR isolators and these Verax rubber sticks and I could only get the rubber sticks to work. Need Help Understanding Fan Pressure

I decided this weekend to install an intake fan, in order to create positive case pressure, so that my low RPM Panalfow L1A on my PSU doesn't have to fight against negative case pressure to cool my PSU (as per Katana Man's suggestion). However, this led me to think of a question. How do case and fan...

Yeah, that's a good point. However, I think my SLK-800 isn't what it used to be. My hypothesis is that because I've taken it on and off so many times (we won't get into why) the clip has somehow bent out a bit and therefore it isn't pushing down as hard onto the CPU. I've wondered if I should try an...

Do you really need another 42 Celcius component in your machine? With its low 30C temparature and its 12cm fan, the Fortron FSP350-60PN may be the winner. Yeah, but it blows it's exhaust back into the computer case !! To me this totally negates the lower temp of the unit itself. Who cares how hot i...
