So they're not allowed to use AAM which is commonly used. So why can't they make something similar on their own?

Alright, the upgrade devil got a hold on me too. So, I bought a Sapphire 4850 and run it with S1 rev1 with Nexus fan @ 7v 120mm placed so that some of the airflow cools the VRMs. Zalman heatsinks on the RAM and on the VRM. Chips cleaned with chemically clean aceton before mounting Zalman ramsinks wh...

Too bad that it has the same poor mounting system. Soft mounting is essential with these, and I actually succeeded with that in a p182 case.
Makes an amazing difference in the sound output.

I've found out that the quickest way of getting cards to "sing" is using an older benchmark such as Aquamark 3 or 3dMark 2001SE

I've heard that with every card since about the time 6800 series were released and not just my own.

Umh no, Soundstorm was nothing exceptional really. Review examples had better chips but what the consumer received was normal substandard D/A converters. It was really a budget thing..

I found the seeks/writes of my 500 GP annoying too, couldn't have Vista on it but as a download/game/media disk it's perfect.

Hopefully my WD 640 will be better..

I changed my Ninja rev B to a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro which looks almost identical to this and lowered my idle and load temps by atleast 5 degrees Celsius.

With help from zip ties I continue to use the same 120mm fan that I used with the Ninja.

Access: 14.2ms (14)
Average: 64.4 (67.2)

I have both GP 500GB and t166 500GB and actually prefer the Samsung since it has quieter read and writes than the WD.

That is atleast when you load Vista from both drives, for other usage WD is equally or even more quiet than the Samsung.
