I originally replaced the fan in the rear of the Antec PSU with a single L1A fan plugged into the PSU fan headers, the case was incredibly silent, but airflow was dead, as it was the only exhast in my system. CPU temps were up 4 degrees, nearing 60 when playing a FPS in under an hour. I went downsta...

Actually, I used clear packing tape on the back fan hole and those holes near the PCI cards, didn't want to make it look too ghetto :) Temps went down 1 degree for the CPU and 1 for the Northbridge. The HD temps have dropped 2 degrees though cause I think covering the holes forced air to come in thr...

Didn't suspend the hard drives just yet, I'm still hammering out the details of the design. In the meantime, here they are decoupled from the case, would actually suspending them add any more silencing than this? http://image1ex.villagephotos.com/pubimage.asp?id_=1893091 http://image1ex.villagephoto...

Actually, I did get it from Newegg, and it is Foxconn, how'd you figure that out? Its a Foxconn/ApexTech TU-150. The Apex website has the specs. I think Newegg's photos are pre-production, alot of the stuff is green; all my stuff is black. I like the case, its a total underdog/unknown case like me, ...

I think the drive suspending may be next, though the issue isn't vibration but the whine at 7200, I might have to run a box trick on it. As for the drives, when the weather gets warmer I'll head outside to dye their faceplates, the picture showed them really well cause the flash was on, behind the d...

My Quiet Attempt

Quiet system. Zalman Heatsinks all over Antec PSU modded with 2 panaflos wired to the front baybus (the internal wiring made them run fast and loud). Some cosmetics added, cleaned up the wiring a bit. Blue lights are nice on black cases http://image1ex.villagephotos.com/pubimage.asp?id_=1895577 http...

I read that post on the fanless 8500 too. I've got a version that has mounting holes, and I'm using the 80A. WIthout a fan, the heatsinks are warm (not overly hot), but the card's PCB is really warm where the memory is ... I think the fan might play some role in indirectly cooling the nearby PCB to ...

Antec & Panaflo

Hey everyone, I've got a single fan Antec PS (PP-303XP) 300W, I looked inside and the fan that it has is plugged into a fan header. Checking online it resembles a relabled Enermax Thermo Controlled fan (#B011388 is stamped on the label). Its rated at: Application 12 Volts Amp 0.23A 3 Watts Fan Size ...

zm80a Concerns

I just got one too and I wanted to know if this other behavior is normal. After install I ran a few loops of 3Dmark2k and felt the heatsinks. The bottom one was warm, the top was so-so, but the card PCB is hot to the touch. Under normal running both heatsinks seem to be around the same temperature s...
