I'm moving from a Sonata to a BQE. I currently have my BQE, however UPS dented the holy hell out of the side panel, so I'm awaiting a new side panel and fan from Directron. If you'd like and you're not in a rush to get the case, I can post you some real world temperature differences between the 2 ca...

You should be fine. Specially if you can hold your finger there for 20-30 seconds. I was told that if I do see artifacts it means that my card has been damaged permanently... Lol, not hardly. Artifacting is the same as when a CPU produces errors in prime95. It's just not producing exact results of i...

Good to hear :) I'll be putting off the ZM-80D for awhile longer. I need to find someone to trade my AC Silencer rev 2. modded 9800 Pro for their regular 9800 Pro. The Ramsinks on my current card are too tall to fit the heatpipe over, and on top of that I don't have the original PCI bracket :( And I...

Same here. In fact if you use the connector pictured without using the single pin plugs, it's still backwards. Use the single pin plugs and you're good to go. I've found that this is typical of a lot of motherboards. There's apparently no universal standard for motherboard I/O headers. Some I've fou...

Thanks for the info I Googled for a bit and found a few sites that claim compatibility but no info as to what was needed to do it. Looks like the X800 Pro is compatible. That should be fine for me. I wouldn't even upgrade from my 9800 Pro but if I go NForce4 they're PCI-E. I checked out the Gigabyte...

Zalman ZM-80D compatibility
Just wondering. Zalman's site lists it as compatible with all cards with the mounting holes. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro atm, which I'm sure it will fit, however I plan on upgrading to a vanilla 6800 later. Do the plain 6800's have the mounting holes? If not, do the X800 Pro's have them? Anybody had su...

Did the 7000 work with the low profile A64's? If it did I imagine this one will also. The more I look into this the more it seems like nothing really changed. From what I can tell the base is the same width and height. I don't know for sure how the new mounting mechanisms will work, but I'm thinking...

Pardon me for the assumption. The bezel mod will definitely cool your single drive or possibly two cooler running drives just fine. A fan might be in order for multiple warm running drives. Thanks burcakb. Just a thought... I think it's a general concensus that the "Antec" holes are there for easier...

As a Sonata owner I can tell you that adding the front fan won't help much. If you do the mods listed by Tom Brown here on the forums to open up the Sonata's front bezel, for me it seemed to equal the effect of using a front fan. All the front fan really did was cool the HD's a little. In fact it ma...

if you look closely at how the fan retention bracket is held to the actual flower it's the same screw layout as the 7000 AlCu. I'm betting that if they make the fan not removable from the 7700 retention bracket that if you were to take the bracket off of an old 7000 it would work stickied in the sam...

Per my sig I run an AXP Mobile @ 2200mhz. With the Evercool modded Zalman and 1.6 Vcore it runs all day at this speed. Idles at about 47C and loads to about 53-55C. I overclock because I can. My fans are all running @5v and honestly the only thing that makes noise in my system is my AC Silencer on m...

It'll definitely fit. I had the same setup awhile ago. At around 7v it should sufficiently cool your 1700 if it's the T-bred B with 1.5v default. It'll probably run about the equivalent of an overclocked 2500 barton to the same speeds. That's a big YMMV but I'm thinking it'll be okay. If I remember ...

I think a dual 120mm rad/heatercore is more than enough unless you plan to overclock to hell and back. Northbridge isn't normally a problem, but I've heard lots of people complain about A64 boards getting really hot on the NB sink. Maybe the nforce4 will be better. You'll have to wait and see with t...
