well, the PC is in my room, which can get quite warm itself, and I usually like to leave it on overnight as it compresses videos. which only takes a couple hours at most, and for the rest of the night it'll usually sit idle. so to me if its the difference between 41, to 38 degrees, i'll take it. Ho...

Its pretty clear that the Psu just can't deliver sufficient power. Maybe it was near the limit already earlier but its Max power has decreased due to age and makes other components fail. I'd say forget DC/DC and just get a regular Psu unless you actually prefer fixing problems to actually using the ...

Im, I assumed that two outputs was generally the limit on graphics cards because that's what you mostly see, so I didn't even look! The good folk at google say there's a few options out there so I think that would be the way to go if I can find one to suit. Thanks for prompting me to start looking!...

EMFs? Optical mice have a led and a camera, essentially. The old kind of mice that had rubber balls, still had leds and light sensors, but they just were inside the mouse, tracking hole patterns in disks that were spun by the ball. I don't see how any kind of mouse should be any better in this regar...

The bullfighter has no practical purpose as a human or animal. First of all, I am just as much against cruelty to animals in general and bullfighting in particular as you guys. However, that statement is a bit harsh. Who are we to judge the practical purpose of certain professions? You could just a...

Hmm, at least they should run at full resolution with good fps nowadays: Best PCIe Card For ~$125: Radeon HD 5770 512MB Great 1920x1200 performance in most games I haven't ever felt a need to scale fonts larger in any game, usually they are huge as is and hardly any games even have that much ...

At least my performance drop was very obvious: During a disk operation, the disk would start to click like "chaa-tsirp, chaa-tsirp, ..." during which no IO progress. So for example trying to play back video from the said drive, the video would simply stop for the duration of the clicking and then co...

Lately I took my last crt, a 19" model, to our local recycling center. They told me that nobody will want it, so it was discarded. I do a lot of freelance quick fixes, so I usually just download the whole site, make a copy, then do the fixes on the copy, then upload any changed files. So I'll have a copy of the original site, and a copy of the changed site. Yeah, it's kind of crude but for that type of work it's easier. You mi...

I'm running 2560x1600 pixels and 60 Hz on my display. I have one dvi cable. The cable obviously has to support dual link. But if you get a monitor that supports more pixels than 1920x1200, then you will get such a cable bundled anyway. Mine came with two - and that means I could use them to connect ...
