I could be wrong..but i'm pretty sure you can't use a pwm header for a 3 pin fan. PWM headers output pulses of ~12 Volts of various time dependant widths (actually square waves ..liek your name!). Hence the acronym for Pulse Width Modulation. They require 4 pins to do so, and i'm not exactly sure wa...

plug it into a 3pin header and ignore the 4pin pwm cpu header.

then u can either use the asus fan control in the BIOS or software like Speedfan to controll it.

If u have a fan with 3pins, forget the 4pin pwm header..its useless to you now.
