One thing, if you buy a power supply with dual 12V rails I believe one rail is exclusive to the 4 pin ATX connector. I'm pretty sure the BF6 does not use this connector, so be careful of this. The power supply might automatically reroute this rail if it's not plugged in, I doubt any manufacturers ha...

Re: Phantom Menace - Lota talk, no answers.
So far, I think half or more of the people buying psu's for their silent/quiet rig would truly not mind buying one of these. However, people like me feel uncomfortable, and here are the reasons: 1. We play games like half-life2, battlefield 1942, and so on. 2. We would rather overclock than undercl...

so guys, if my mobo can supply only 600mA to the cpu fan header when the fan needs 1,000mA, does that mean the fan could do any damage? Most likely is the fan header will short out and stop providing the fan with power. It's possible something else could be effected but I believe it unlikely unless...

I like Lian-Li, but those look to be hard to quiet down even with acoustipack due to all of the mesh. I'm not one to complain much about some openings at the bottom of the case for air intake but that's excessive and seems like a fairly impractical cases if you are going for quiet. And I'm probably ...

Personally I'm looking forward to dual core, ncq etc going mainstream. It's not unusual for me to have something in the background when gaming, and if I can have tasks set to low priority running without bogging down the system like they do now it'd be great. Anandtech's comparisons with minimum fra...

Yeah, I am wondering about this anti-aluminum bias myself with a possible new dampening build I want to begin next week. I want a pimped out Lian li with that door on the front. That solid, sealable door. I want to put 1/4 inch super soundproofing mat from http://soundproofing.org/sales/prices.html...

I was thinking of one of the earlier Centurions actually with only 80mm fans and more restrictions on the airflow. I had not looked at any newer reviews as I thought they were using the same design with a bezel change (the name barely changed, but it was a bad assumption on my part) and it didn't in...

If they make a version of this with the removable motherboard tray I would seriously consider it with the P-180, a bit harder to quiet down but good airflow and I like the removable tray. 8) That is what I wanted three years ago, I may favor the P-180 now though, I like the PSU channel and dampened ...

Reason why I won't post dates/confirm dates: Every date I've ever been given for a product launch has always been pushed back in the 7 years I've been at Antec (I'm talking about dates flung around the office). Such that until it's in the warehouse (in Fremont), it's not here in my mind. So why tha...

Re: SPCR and Aluminum Anti-Bias?
Regarding these cases specifically. Antec P160 Coolermaster Centurion 5 Lian Li V1000, V2000 etc I really don't think much of this Antec. Antec's tend to use thin materials to begin with and this is just a bad mistake on aluminum if you are wanting quiet. The Coolermaster is simply not up to par on ...

I use a Lian-Li PC-69 case for my main system, and have used some of the favored cases such as the SLK-3700AMB, Evercase 4252 etc as well, and have built so many custom systems with varying cases that I wouldn't even have a guess on how many. And I do share the general opinion that aluminum cases ar...

Far from ideal, but I'm really more worried about electrical issues and communication between the cpu and northbridge etc. If that all works smoothly the rest is just a matter...

Looking at how it is designed, it seems to offer a standard fixed voltage (maybe Asus will allow some slight tweaking depending on the 478 voltage), and fixed 100/133 bus speeds, though the extra jumper could allow some flexibility there if they decide. And it seems to be an almost trivial thing for...

In the case of the Sonata II, the duct is well below the PSU, so it won't suck in warm air exiting from the case. For the P180, it's just above the PSU--so it probably will. I don't think that would work so well with the PSU is in a seperate compartment, best to just use the air channel with a low ...

Oh ok, good call, I hadn't seen that photo yet. But again I wonder, why put a fan there... Its a fanless PSU, the added noise of a fan to cool the closed chamber seems counter productive. If you want to put HDs down there and are concerned with cooling them, you'd be better off with a fanned PSU an...

I had a Zalman 400A and it was quieter than my Seasonic tornado 400, which was quieter than my Seasonic super silencer 400. 3000B with any power supply highly rated by spcr (350 watt+, as long as it has enough on the 12v line) and an NV Silencer to top it all off. I would spend the money for a good hsf (zalman 7000 etc) that can do the job quietly as well. This should be within your budget if you can get a , and you coul...

If I was in the market for an extra system I would actually have to consider this. Seems to only have one dimm slot though which kinda stinks, and I am dubious of the sound level apple calls quiet.
