Hmm that is very unlikely to fit I'm afraid.. :( I do have an accelero s1 on my old 6800 card and it really extends towards the side panel a fair bit, like 3 or 4cm. My passive 9600GT only has the heatsink sticking out towards the side panel about 1cm, which only just fits (heatsink, 1cm, HD, 1cm, s...

Here is a pic.. Two things though: - You are NOT in trouble with double slot coolers as long as the PCIe 16x slot is the absolute highest one - you ARE in trouble with Accelero coolers if your PCIe 16 slot is NOT the highest, because the extend too far towards the side panel, leaving not enough room...

I just build a system with this case and found myself in trouble with the second HD. It couldn't fit on the bottom of the case because the passive 9600GT videocards cooler would basically touch it.. However! When you get the HD ''tray'' and bend two of the mounting 'lips' 90 degrees, you can put the...

These days everything is 'ultra' or 'platinum' or 'extreme'... I much rather put 80plus on my psu box than '80plus bronze' .. which sounds inferior! I'm very surprised at these names, from a marketing POV they suck! :) Bronze - 80 plus ultra Silver - 80 plus ultra extreme gold - 80 plus ultra extrem...

Which is it going to be? Opinions and suggestions welcome!
The Time Has Come! A new system, quick, quiet, bit of gaming, the usual! I've made two Intel and two AMD configurations. Micro ATX, no more DIY MDF cases anymore this time round! Intel vs AMD: - Intel chipset uses more power, AMD cpu uses more power.. same ish result.. - Intel is quite a bit faster ...

T-amps and the Hypex modules are the SPCR equivalent of quality and power efficient amps that perform superbly. Only hardcore / prejudiced / audio-idiots remain convinced class D can't work. Those who measure and listened simply said they are SUPERB at amazing efficiency. This Scythe job might not q...

Micro ATX; contemplating Intel (8200); what mobo do I need?
Hi lads, Time may have come to get a new system. The old ''AMD vs Intel'' question was raised and the AMD option is certainly a good value option. Intel will cost more, the question being if the increased price is worth it. My question is mainly one of mainboards. I know that for AMD, a decent AMD 6...

The powersupply will have a fairly hard time with those components, it may not be capable. It is imo NOT a wise decision to go fully passive as you still have some noise anyway from the harddisks and waterpump. Going for the best air cooled sollutions leaves you with only a coulple of <800RPM 120mm ...

short less deep optical drives; which brands and models?
Hiya! I did a quick search for 'short' and 'less deep' and nothing much came up; so I ask.. What brands of dvd writer are extra short / less deep? I'm considering an upgrade to micro atx and the Antec 3480 and I'd like my psu to have as much room around it as possible.. I've been out of the business...

Isn't the whole idea flawed for these forums? You generate MORE heat so it will always be harder to cool it silently. At the end you still have the dissapate the heat to the air.. You never get cool temperatures for free! Much in the way that watercooling is also at the end of the day aircooling, th...

Lets wait and see.. - one or two benchmarks isn't a good 'practical performance' indication - when will they be out? - how easy is it for Intel to counteract? 45nm on the horizon? Based simply on the resources available, it seems to me that AMD's good fortune the last few years was a rare combinatio...

Only if you use compontents that draw enough power (and thus heat) to ramp up the powersupply fan in a Solo would the P182 be a better choice. So if you have a good psu that doesn't ramp up at the first sight of load or temperature, the solo is good.. With the Solo you could separate the powersupply...

Hot but stable AMD64, beyond the specced thermal 'limit'
Wazzaaa! (sorry, sunstroke..) It is very warm here in Holland, my attic room is only a couple of degrees of its summer max. I run a Sempron 64 venice based AMD64 chip (with less cache than the normal AMD64 chips) from 1.8ghz (3000+) to 2.5ghz on 1.4 volts. My cpu cooler is a 'reasonable' but not top...

Very correct. While spending evenings with computer aided flow programs I couldn't quite simulate a case and get an idea of temperatures. I could see the randomness and ineffectiveness of 'blown' air. Only sucking air out of something gives somewhat predictable results. When your fans blow air, duct...

Hi Derek, Thanks for the kind words.. Its not THAT big an innovation though, its a case with PC bits in them! :) I'm using the case for a while now. Yeah as Jag said, specs are often really not quite correct! :) Another 'first rule' is to not 'over cool' a system. On many forums you see people boasting about low temperatures, which is just a way of saying that their pc's are too noisy! There is nothing wrong with full load temperatures of 60c, e...

My little Antec Solo + Seasonic scheme was also chosen because the psu will cause airflow over the cpu heatsink, something you'd not have with the powersupply in the P150. My estimate (95%sure?) is that it won't get hot enough or draw enough power to ramp up with the given components. So you get act...
