Has anyone here who has used this board (I've got one) tried to boot off of a flash card and been successful? I've tried the steps outlined at this site and ended up with the following errors when I tried to boot from a USB flash card. http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2583/making_a_usb_drive_or_memory...

Here SPCR article This is apparently the same MATX board reviewed by SPCR a while back. Good price coming with a CeleronM 1.4. I've been looking for a low-power board for a while now.....this is it. Ordered it this morning. :D Good for you! It's a great price. I bought the MB minus the CPU in Janua...

I pretty much listed the ingredients for doing just that, a few posts up. Although I used a Via mini-ITX board for true SFF joy. Also, I still think you need a case fan, albeit one moving slow enough to be inaudible. ...A cheap way to do this right now is to buy the Shuttle 915 box that takes the P...

Anyway, if you really want pre-assembled why not just order the Asus Eee PC once it's available? All solid state li...

What are the "similar, less expensive, domestic options"? Completely silent, no hard drive etc. etc. Buy this and this and this then add 512 MB of RAM and a good quality 2 GB CF card. I 1. Re: Quiet speakers

The first was a hiss coming from the speakers (before they were even connected to the computer). How are your speakers connected, analog or digital? I assume analog since you mentioned "low-end Logitech pair". If so, try to make sure your signal lines are not running along side power wires, which c...

I have decent monitors but I'm getting a hum when combined with my amp (probably my amp is the problem there). This could be a ground loop issue, which is often curable. Firstly, is the power to your amp coming from the same wall socket as your computer? If not, try that and see if it helps. Otherw...

Re: Linutop, anyone buy one yet?

The Linutop is finally out. I think you'll be quite pleased. Almost any USB device is plug-n-play on Linux, with the possibly exception of a few PTP cameras and printers (although most are supported). You never need to install drivers for anything. If it's supported, you already have them on your s...

Because they are much more expensive to produce than single layer, I don't think you'll ever get them much cheaper than $2.15. This is slightly off-topic for this forum but heh, it does have to do with storage though. :) Now that I have a brand new system and a double layer/dual layer capable DVD writer I figured I'd go out and buy some 8G+ DVD's to make back-up DVD's of my data.
