uhmmm...I can check again, but if so, why the dell works with pico psu 150w without any problem? Indeed, that question occurred to me as well. On second thought, you probably took care of the 'remote' lead, which is on pin 5 (red). You probably shorted pins 1-4 together (blue and white), and pins 5...

PM230 isn't a good design for UK because the power cord ends up blocking the display. They have a newer model
EM230, which is better suited for UK.

Eddie, I hope you know that there is a 'remote' lead coming out of Dell DA-2 which has to be connected to ground in order to turn on the power brick? Otherwise, the power brick is on standby, signified by the amber light on the brick.

I ran this system of a PV-200-V and a Dell DA-2 brick with no problems. AuraAllan, Thanks for joining us. I have been meaning to ask a couple of questions about your system. What is the type of the junction box that you used to splice the wires from your mating connector to the PW-200's leads? And,...

You can clearly see from the pictures that HDDs are mounted on the top side, and fans on the bottom, so you CAN put all of it on the thing at the same time. Indeed! I didn't see the pictures clearly. If the HDDs are one side and fans on the other, I guess the air flow could work. But it doesn't see...

I wonder if you have any thoughts on noise impact from putting a dust filter right in front of the fan? Either way I'm sure it's better than a dusty computer. You mean, dust filter right behind the fan? I think it is a good idea to avoid dust filters unless they are really necessary for your enviro...

It might also be possible to use this for mounting internal DC-DC power supply boards, like, e.g. the Electrodacus's board. I have tried thinking of using the "wherever" PCI rack for such a purpose but that looks a bit too complicated.

Another idea would be to use a 60mm to 80mm adapter such as this one and install a regular 80mm quiet fan on it. You might wan to calculate the resulting air flow

[80mm fan air flow in CFM] * 80^2 / 60^2

and check to see whether it is enough.
