uhmmm...I can check again, but if so, why the dell works with pico psu 150w without any problem? Indeed, that question occurred to me as well. On second thought, you probably took care of the 'remote' lead, which is on pin 5 (red). You probably shorted pins 1-4 together (blue and white), and pins 5...

I ran this system of a PV-200-V and a Dell DA-2 brick with no problems. AuraAllan, Thanks for joining us. I have been meaning to ask a couple of questions about your system. What is the type of the junction box that you used to splice the wires from your mating connector to the PW-200's leads? And,...

You can clearly see from the pictures that HDDs are mounted on the top side, and fans on the bottom, so you CAN put all of it on the thing at the same time. Indeed! I didn't see the pictures clearly. If the HDDs are one side and fans on the other, I guess the air flow could work. But it doesn't see...

Mini-box recently started carrying a 12v 12.5a AC/DC brick. The unit comes with a 4pin DIN-Minifit adapter. I can't post links yet, but it is listed on the AC-DC Power Supplies section of mini-box. Welcome to SPCR! You are right. Both mini-box and short-circuit are selling 150W bricks with a 4-pin ...

No progress yet. I dithered on spending 20GBP for a Molex crimp tool. So, I got our workshop technician to help me with crimping using his tool. In the end, we managed to put the 8-pin Molex connector at the end of the DA-2's cable. However, I probably screwed up the next step. I used the same pin c...

Re: Can anyone recommend a good dust filter?
I wonder if you have any thoughts on noise impact from putting a dust filter right in front of the fan? Either way I'm sure it's better than a dusty computer. You mean, dust filter right behind the fan? I think it is a good idea to avoid dust filters unless they are really necessary for your enviro...

Yeah, I was considering this to cool my GPU as well. But, after I installed all the drivers, my GPU quieted itself and the need went away. I think this is a neat little inexpensive device. I noticed the product image on the webpage you listed does not show it with a barrel connector but some sort of 2 pin connector. Another idea would be to use a 60mm to 80mm adapter such as this one and install a regular 80mm quiet fan on it. You might wan to calculate the resulting air flow
[80mm fan air flow in CFM] * 80^2 / 60^2
and check to see whether it is enough.

It's not really too hard for case manufacturers to make a minor change to help with mounting an SSD. Of course. Turbulent flow is still as "real" as laminar flow. What it really means is that with turbulence, when you zoom down into the local level, you'll have fluid moving in random directions. However, the bulk fluid is still flowing in a particular direction. Turbulent flow is actually very important for ...
