Re: Samsung Spinpoint P 120 SP2504C - quick question re: noi

Hi, I am using the 250GB Spinpoint P120 SP2504C as my OS drive, and can really notice the seek and read/write noise above the rest of my PC's components (FYI I have a pretty quiet Silverstone SG01 with 2 fans set low and a quiet PSU). Can anyone tell me if hearing these seek noises are normal or wh...

Re: Asus MB and Noctua Fan Control?

I am building a high ending gaming PC based on Antec Sonata III enclosure with Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard. I have decided to add the Noctua 120mm fan (NF-S12-1200) to the front of the case for additional cooling. I am new to the whole "controlled fan" concept. Will this motherboard adjust this fa...

My bZerk fan was a little broken I think, it was unbalanced (that happens) but I could shut of the fan with the provided fancontroller. I don't have a clue on what V that was but not below 8V. Not sure if those LEDs did anything to that The 35dBA is all airrush, even at the high V i was forced to ru...

This can hardly be correct, but according to what I was once taught, the second should add 3dB, the 3rd and 4rd another 3dB, 5-8 another 3dB, 9-16 another 3dB, 17-32 another 3, 33-64 another 3. Since there's 70 in there, I'll stop there. So, according to that, it's only as noisy as one fan + 18. No...

Heavy gaming doesn't push the system enought.

But yes, those sites is always inaccurat. My system takes 211W as max while that site claimed it would require 288W

Why don't you buy a DirectX 10 graficcard? Like 8800GTS, I belive that is way faster and way bether deal

I don't know anything about that PSU but consider the amount of power vs the price it's most likely a bad and noisy. Get a Seasonic or Antec

I wasn't thinking of the sides but the top, between the HDD and graficcard. Since your box is made of copper it should transfer heat rather good to a heatsink placed whereever there is room :) Acctually that works nomather but you should gain some advantage with your present copper. Nice temps :) Th...

Thats a small heatsink for a GPU. Aerocase Condor/raven would be perfect for a big fan

When it comes to the HDD, tryed to slam on a big heatsink on the box and remove the fan?

I'm not clear on how reversing the airflow will somehow mean nothing gets cooled.....the air will take the same path just in reverse, all the components will cooled just in the reverse order[/quote] For a 80mm fan type then yes but for 120mm fan I drawed a nice pic: http://hem.bredband.net/gabsta/B...

Change the direction of the PSU fan will most likely cause the PSU to overheat since the air will flow from "exhaust" to fan without cooling any/or few pieces. Might work with a duct tho

Intresting project :)

Silicone will most likely be enought since the enclosures damper the vibration as well.
If not the just replace it with some foam.
Test and see is usualy the easiest and best method :)

Post a warning in the topic about the amount of pictures. Most people have boradband these days but a few is still using modem.

You could try to improve that cablemanagement. The rest of the case is so neat so those cable ruins it a bit. Great job otherwise :)

Neat but I wouldn't mind seeing longer heatpipes so they can be U-shaped (create virtually 4 heatpipes) and perhaps 2 smaller ones to get to the sides.
