OCZ are rather quiet it seems. According to the reviews I've read. Long cables. XG Magnum is silent and got enought cables but you have to remove or replace the bottomfan then. http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/magnumreview/index.htm Personally I'm going for Tagan. 24-30dB, little louder on the mi...

It will be a minor loss ofcourse but might be worth it, it's bether than cuting the copper right off ;-P A windtunnel will be good if you want to maximise the cfm from the cpu-fan itself but overall I belive you will lose cooling since you'll lose the chassi-fans cooling ability. Might raise sound a...

Another question - is the Northbridge fan REALLY necessary on an NForce4 board? Not really, if you have atleast some airflow in the chassi it can be passivly cooled. Probibly everyone has good enought airflow. This Zalman cooler is usualy recommended and works fine: http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/prod...

Yea, backside had to be cut out (cut it out, cut in half and changins sides (Cards on the upper part and contacts on the lower)) and some new holes probibly needs to be drilled to fit the motherboard but the mounting plate seems to cover the hole motherboard area, atleast on the pics I've seen. Much...

Converting P180 to BTX
Would it be possibly to convert the Antec P180 to BTX form? Probibly have to cut the back a bit to fit in the motherboard but besides that? Can it be done?
Doesn't have the chassie yet (I want my money NOW) so can't meassure and think out stuff straight.

I've been thinking about the airloss at the sides. Not sure since I don't have the cooler yet so it might not bea doable but anyway, the theory: Cutting the fins almost off, that part that is on the side of the fan, so they have about 0.5-1mm copper left and then twist them around so the outside is ...

I was wondering the same thing. Contrary to what Krazy wrote, i read here: http://forums.amd.com/lofiversion/index.php/t57706.html "The only different between Opteron and Athlon 64s (not counting the Venice cored 512K ones) is that the Opterons are hand-pick for better thermal properties which allo...

Re: Antec P180 with Acoustipack?
If you put together a quiet PC, then adding internal damping will definitely help -- the sound you hear will be softer, smoother, quieter, nicer. It is not going to silence it, tho, unless you're very close to ambient noise before the damping is added. But if you are going to have a lot of noise ma...

Their mail: Hey that's interesting... and thanks for the email. We are testing the P180 at the moment. There is a *possibility* that we will bring a new kit out for this case - we very much like the case (and especially the looks of the SPCR Black Special Edition!). At this stage we wouldn't like to...

Sorry, this turned out to be a very bad recommendation. When the PSU was new it was dead silent but now it sounded. I've thought it's been my graphic-card-fan. Might be becourse of heat ofcourse but they say max is 17 dB and that's not correct. Not sure how much but <30dB something, I've heard worse...

Budget recommendation - Northq
Thought I post a tips on a cheap and quiet PSU since most recommended ones costs a fortune. NorthQ is rather cheap but yet rather good, no choise for overclockers I belive since the power is going a little up and down now and then (+- 0.02V on all lines) but it keeps my current computer running stab...
