Toshiba silencing went wrong
My Toshiba laptop was really loud. I taught I could fix this by adding some artic silver 5. I opened the whole thing. Cleaned off the thermal paste that was there, alot of it, just like anyone saw how apple does it. I added a thin layer of as5 like they say in their instructions. Now its even worst,...

As I remember, the X2 3800 (35W) was only released to system vendors, and not to retail. I don't know what you are using this system for, so it is hard to make recommendations. As for a cooler, I have a Thermaltake Big Typhoon in a Sonata, and it fits well. The whole unit is 122x122 and 130mm high....

T&T fans from Coolmax power
Anyone got any advice on this fan, is it any good. Does it compare to the Nexus or Yate Loon 120mm. It came from a Coolmax power supply. But has silent as they say. It says on it, TT 1225L12S ND3. Should I replace my fans with Nexus or Yate Loons. I am not sure in 28dba is that quiet. http://img337....

I notice no one here has addressed the issue of higher temperatures and possible overheating. Personally, I'm not comfortable with the temperatures of a 3.5" drive without active airflow (even if it's not in any enclosure). That was one of my concerns as well. Will the hard drive overheat inside th...

Booting of sata enclosure, and putting away
I was thinking in order to get rid of my hard drives noise, is by putting it in a way sata enclosure. And boot from it. Put the sata enclosure away in a desk door, so I cannot heard the noise.
Is this a bad idea, will the hard drive over heat, or its inpossible to boot of sata enclosure.
Thanks

With one of these - http://svcompucycle.stores.yahoo.net/scnj-1000p.html - I am currently passively cooling a P4 Northwood 3.2GHz w/ H/T on. Confused on how TDP works AMD
Could someone quickly explain to me, what does it mean when Amd says their EE x2 3800+ TDP is 35watts, does this mean it uses 35watts at full load for both cores, or each core uses 35watts x 2, 70watts.
Thanks
