I would honestly suggest getting a quiet 2.5 drive, or even a 3.5 inch samsung drive, the 200gig drivers from samsung are really quiet, the new ones. And even keep the 2.5 inch inside your case.
Thanks

my suggestion will sound kind off. If you got the money, for the Plextor dvdrw 16x, it can do everything, burn dvds and read them. Also you are getting the best burner. If not, get a cheaper dvd burner, once again it can do everything, and you are also future proof, if you ever need to burn a dvd. ...

Two things: 1. I don't have a copy of Windows XP, and 2. I managed to figure out what the problem is. I had forgotten that the particular type of Corsair memory I have needs more than 2.5v, I upped it to 2.75, and now everythings working well. Thanks, all. Good job. it sucks how something we would ...

You can try to reinstall the os. Rma the board, or buy a new one. If you buy a motherboard, with identical chipsets, you can use without reinstallation the os.

I have seen a 2.5 drive in a enclosure, and it was very quiet, couldnt even hear the noise. I am not sure if it was due to the enclosure or the hard drive. But I am guessing you can get a really quiet hard drive, and put in the enclosure. Are you planning to boot of the enclosure, or use it has a st...

For the cpu I hear venice cores, are better with cool and quiet, and also use less power, since they run at 1.4volts. You could replace the 60mm fans, with 60mm silenx fans, or even turn them of, or just leave one. Also couldnt you install a memory card reader in the second cdrom bay. For the hard d...

I managed to mod my power supplies fan to 7v. Now really silent, can barely hear it. My cpu fan, is not noticable thats its on. But the biggest problem my hard drive makes a ennoying hissing sound, or the motor spinning sound, just like any other hard drive. This hard drive is quiet, you can hear no...

I wish that there was a way to use a few sticks of ram as a hardddrive. Just like there is compact flash to ide. There should be something like that for ram. At a affordable price. The hyper drive is really expensive.

Quiet hard drives

I have read around and learned that the Samsung and Hitachi are the quietest hard drives. Samsung appear to be very quiet, but I have heard they are not very realialeble. Which hard drive would you choose for quiet.

Extremely low power and quiet pc

I am trying to build a pc that will run 24/7. This pc should have a hard drive with at least 120gig on storage. It will run 24/7. What would the most quiet hard drive, and hard drive cooler be. I am also looking at a cheap, but deeply undervolting motherboard. I have a duron, I also have pure copper...

Is there any program that would allow undervolting on my Asus a7n8x or Ecs k7s5a pro, I have both a Xp2400+ and Xp1800+ to try on. I need a pc to keep on 24/7, therefore I would love a amd based at a low voltage, I would sometimes switch that pc to full speed.
Thanks
