If you had enough money for a P183 and a new PSU, you have enough for a replacement (used) motherboard - I'm quite sure that getting such an old one would set you back five quid or so.

If you have an ATI card, you can lower the saturation in CCC... But that screws up everything a bit.

Windows 7 can supposedly do gamut transformations with certain monitors if you have a newer ATI card. It might work, or it might not ;)

It's wide gamut, unfortunately, so not a good option for people who value colour reproduction.

If you are building a PC for photo editing, then the monitor is the most important thing. Think about the rest of the hardware later.

The only way your current audio problems can happen is if you've somehow told the game to use 3D audio or the card to somehow emulate it.

A 4670 is more than fine, unless you want übermaximumMOARdetail and 4xAA.

The Q9550 in either variant seems like a great CPU - it's a shame that it's well beyond my price reach at $360 (the S variant is $560)... My E4300 is itching for an upgrade :(

Where's the bottleneck? Is the CPU pegged at 100%? Is it using 10 gigs of memory? Lots of HDD access? Need better GPU acceleration somewhere? Building a new computer for the sake of building a new computer is rather silly. Identify the bottleneck and see if something can be done about it... And it p...

I have a wall clock in my room. If I concentrate on hearing it tick when I go to bed, there's no chance in hell that I can get some sleep. Impossible. Once I've even removed the battery from it, but could still "hear" it tick. By the way, the clocks don't really go tic-tac-tic-tac. It's all in our i...
