Lian Li PC7 Plus.

Slightly over your budget but extreme solid case. None of the brushed painted cheapness from Antec cases (besides the p180).

When you specify quality, exactly what? Just the craftsmanship of the case? I've read quite a lot of reviews and honestly, I do read that they have great "quality" but also read that they are louder than the P180 and in most instances I've read, either cool equally as well/not as well as the P180. ...

Mirra

Anyone has any experience in quieting down a Mirra machine?

I have a Mirra that sits right besides my computer, and its really really loud. I wanted to get some recon before I open up the box (void the warranty) and quiet it down. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Nice Case

Sit the extendable CAG pipe about 15mm from the CPU fan and maybe even block off the VGA grille (I found it short-circuited my airflow so I did) I am curious about this. How do you find a "short-circuit" in your airflow? :o Back to OP, perhaps you should tear your computer apart and power off each ...

IMO the design of this card is inline with its peers (silient pipe stuff). However the GPU isn't worth it to be reviewed due to its out dated specs. It doesn't even do decent Pure Video HDMI decoding.

I have decided that its not suitable to my motherboard/case to use Katana passively. My case is P180 with top vent sealed. My motherboards' CPU mount is too far north of the back vent/fan so the airflow thru Katana is limited. The CPU mount is closer to top case vent/fan, so I am thinking about seal...

my MB (MSI pt880 neo) does not have the ability to control fans :( Judging from your system specs (P4 Prescott & ATI 9800 Pro), I believe its cheaper and easier to just get a new motherboard that has the ability to control fan speeds using SpeedFan or some other software. Here is a list of MSI moth...

Thanks thats very very helpful!!!

Now if someone could please add Nexus to the table since SPCR consider it as the coolest/quietest fan. 8)

I don't know, but getting 1 Nexus will let you buy 3-4 Globalwins and both have comparable properties.

I am very interested in the GlobalWin NCB fans, but its not been reviewed in SPCR. :(

According to official specs, GlobalWin fans push higher CFM (41 vs 39) and have lower dB (19 vs 21) over the Nexus fans at 12V.

Any suggestion/insights from experienced users?

Here is a alumnium filter and its review.

I use ducktape to seal my P180's top vent hole since I am not using it currently (and I guess should since my CPU runs at 51-61 degrees), and I dont notice any air turbulence noise induced by the seal of top vent.

I looked at both Scythe Katana Al and Thermalright SI97-A and decided to go with Katana Al because 1) SI97-A is extremely hard to find on state side 2) SI97-A is slightly more expensive.

I uses Katana (Al) to passively chill my Sempron 2200+, and my temperature runs around 51 to 61 degrees.

There is a difference between a Silent PC and a Silent Gaming PC.

Most of the mods I find on this website are usually very low end PC or mid range PC underclock/undervolts. That works fine for a Silent PC but defeats the purpose of a Silent Gaming PC or a Silent Workstation.

Depends what kind of CPU you're looking to place it on...
Forgot to mention that its going to be put on a Sempron 2200+ OC from 1500Mhz to 1600Mhz. :p
