I just wonder why they're even bothering... Have a look at their HFX mini case. It's so small an ATX PSU won't fit. When a company needs to have such a powersupply for one of their cases, it's a small step to sell them separately. Especially since there has been demand for something like this for s...

The electronics is just FSPxxx-60GLN series, so that's not new. But for SPCR it is also the question: What fan did they put in it? But that's probably not enough to merit it it's own review (unless it is far better of course).

I've read claims that birth control merely leads to increased promiscuity with the same amount of pregnancies. Yes, I've read that argument too. It is usually used by right wing christians in the US who think that telling teenagers not to have sex before mariage actually works. As if modern ...

If pregnancies could be controlled then that could be a solution I suppose. OK, I knew the US government is quite dumb in its present stance about this, but I didn't know they had erased all knowledge about this subject "over there". Try reading up on: condoms, the pill, vasectomy, "having your tub...

If you follow all ATX specs, a 150mm fan won't fit. But this wouldn't be the first PSU that is longer than the specs allow.

The semi fanless Antec 500W PSU comes to mind.
Several Topower made PSU's with two 80mm fans in series were longer too.

That's another advantage of bottom to top airflow [...], that is the fact that high frequencies don't go around corners well. They are very directional. So if they can only escape from the bottom or top, even better. This is exactly one of the reasons why a top blow hole is a bad idea. The top of t...

Then he thought; what to do with it that makes us stand out. Yes, let's do something with heatpipes, bec...

You can't compare the ~5 year old i815 with current integrated graphics.

I'm not exactly up to date in my graphics performance benchmarks, but a new integrated graphics board (as long as it's not a VIA chipset) is probably faster than the ~5 year old radeon 8500 too.

A 330 is more than adequate. (See the SS-301HT in my sig, which is the OEM version of it.) But in most shops the price difference between the 330 and the 380 is minimal. The pico PSU should work for such a low power system.

Sorry if the next sounds a bit harsh, but if you think that that is an oxymoron, then you lack imagination.

Maybe other people place there gear differently, e.g. because it is a bit hard to operate the switch on a powerstrip if it is tucked away behind some furniture.

People at SPCR are, as a collective (and even some individuals), pretty smart. Re: Form Factor changes that need to be done

1. All powersupplies need to be removed from the enclosures, and made into external single voltage (preferably a standard like 12v) ac/dc adapters. Let the motherboard manufacturers determine what voltages it needs. As for 5v lines for hard drives n stuff, just have motherboard manufacturers put a ...

I think it failed in the retail market, because the formfactor is so rigid, that it doesn't leave case and heatsink manufacturers enough room to make something unique enough to sell. So they simply didn't design for it at all.
