What? You don't like my ASCII art? That took me 10 minutes! I feel like A and B on opposite sides will make it more likely that all three down tubes are utilized. I wonder if I'm over-designing. Would this work just as well, if not better? %%%%%%% %%###%% %%#%#%% %%#%#%% %%#%#%% A##%##B %%%%%%%

Homemade HD watercooler

I'm in the design stage of a HD water cooler, and I had one planned out, but now something is sticking in my mind saying that parallel lines don't work. Gooserider? Was that you? I'll try and ASCII my idea here, and then please, anyone, give you opinion. %%%%%%%% A #######%% %%#%#%#%% %%#%#%#%% %%#%...

I know I need to try Prime 95. It sure seems like a heat issue, although it does seem odd as the case has decent ventilation and it's a stock heatsink. Oh well. I'll report back soon. I want that 2100+ churning out Tinkers for me!

Heh. I just tried F@H again tonight, and I set max CPU usage to 50%, but it didn't help much. It is curious. I thought/think it was CPU heat too, because it would lock up after 2 hours when you first turned it on, and then much more frequently thereafter (tonight I barely had time to deselect it fro...

F@H making my computer crash.

I installed my old Gigabyte board and 2100+ into my mother's computer, and suddenly it locks up a lot. While I was using the same chip and mobo, I had no problems. Now that it's in her computer, it's not doing so well. I thought it was an overheating issue, but I guess not. Here's what happens. With...

I think the answer to this question is watercooling. With a northbridge waterblock, a CPU waterblock, and a GPU waterblock, you can buy the fastest processor/mobo/graphics card you can find and not have to worry about sound. Money is no object, right? Then shell out for a watercooling setup and run ...

I'd just like to give support to Aston on his claim that the fan speed vascilations are more an issue of case temp than PSU load. I have a Super-Tornado 400 which powered an 800T-Bird that folded all night below my bed. It would speed up every 10 minutes. I checked the clock. Then I noticed it sped ...

I chose a ST-400 because I think that with some work it will be the coolest non-passive, non-water cooled PSU possible. Heat is caused by inefficiency, and the ST has the highest efficiency, therefore the least heat. And 120mm fans should move more air with less noise than 80mm fans. Also, I haven't...

Love that song. Well worth learning to play. My favorite note is when he makes the Em into an E major chord with his last 'immerse your soul in love" that he sings. Brilliant.

Yes, I'm a big radiohead fan, it's true.
