It matters different amounts to different people. For me, if I buy something that is "new" or "basically new" (2 weeks old), I would expect that the warranty would not be technically voided due to something the manufacturer did. Because now if you have an issue, you are counting on Antec to do the r...

Apparently during shipping or something the stickers are failing I like Antec a lot, and I have bought plenty of Antec cases, power supplies, and accessories, but I don't think Antec is being truthful. I just think to myself, what are the odds of a sticker failing during shipping, with such widespr...

Yes, that's pretty bad. I think that Antec is really making a mistake by shipping power supplies in that condition. I mean, really, how much would it cost them to replace the warranty stickers prior to shipment? I can't think of any good reason for them to NOT replace the stickers, and I would have ...

I've got a pair of 74GB Raptors in a RAID configuration. They are quiet in terms of "spinning" noise (after startup), but there is a decent amount of seek noise. If you are going for a silent PC, then I think Raptors may need to be suspended or otherwise acoustically decoupled, at least in my experi...

Can you give us a link? It would be interesting to see what (if?) they changed anything. I can't recall where I got that information, sorry. I'll look some more and see if I can find that and give you a link. Is that with all PCI(-E) slots and CPU drawing maximum power? I don't know how Intel rates...

I would look at the Lian-Li PC-V1100B. It is a quiet case with inverted design (power supply on the bottom). I have one and I like it a lot so far. Pros: - Nice looking / excellent quality - Acoustical foam on inside panels - Plenty of space inside, incl. PSU area - Quiet fans / good cooling concept...

Forget the Antec marketing, and go for product quality! Get the Seasonic instead. Advantages of the Seasonic: 1. 120mm fan vs. 80mm fan (quieter) 2. Fan mounted inside of case, pushing air into PSU, instead of mounted at outside of case (quieter) 3. Seasonic has a superior fan controller (quieter) A...

Between the S12-500 and S12-600 is an easy choice: If you want slightly quieter operation, go for the 600W. It is 2-4 dbA quieter on average than the 500W. If you want to save a few bucks, go for the 500W. I personally opted for the 600W since the cost difference was so small. It has been excellent ...

600W is Quieter Than 500W
The 600W is quieter than the 500W by a 2-4 dBA across the entire load range. Despite what Tibors said, I think the 500W and 600W supplies have been upgraded since the SPCR review. I read elsewhere that they have improved fan controllers that make the supplies quieter than the 430W. Although the 500W...

Probably Won't Get Worse
I don't know about that power supply specifically, but most of the time there is coil resonance in a switching power supply, it doesn't get any worse with time.

Go for the 500W
If you can afford it, you should go with the S12-500. The 500W and 600W are a newer design than the 340W, and are quieter and more efficient. Also, buying more power capacity than you need is smart because if one of the voltage rails does get overloaded occasionally, this can cause random lockups. A...
