Remove all your fans and redo all your cooling and you can make it silent. The step from quiet to silent is huge, though. You are basically replacing your entire cooling system, PSU, hard drives, etc.

Wow that is expensive. I think it would be much cheaper to get one of those $25 HDD watercoolers that cool the sides and muffle the HDD to oblivion from all sides.

I'm sure it performs well but it's probably mercury and toxic. Or maybe modified liquid gallium with a lower melting point. Also it is an electrical conductor I'm pretty sure. Based on specs it can thermally conduct 10X better than thermal compound but still not nearly as well as aluminum or copper....

CompUSA sells Yate Loons which are what the Nexus 120s are derived from. You can just run the Yate Loons from 5V rail to get same effect.

yeah d-dawg has it right. except thermosyphons and heatpipes are basically the same things, except thermosyphons don't have a wick but are flexible since they are usually made of plastic. thermosphyons cooled by two 120mm low-RPM fans perform between high-end air and low-end water.

5V Nexus is significantly quieter than Seasonic. 20dBA is insanely loud if you put your ear close to it. That said, I don't think you need any fans at all with the Phantoms. Just put the Phantom on top of the case if you're worried, getting good fresh air.

frostedflakes right above you is running his (slightly undervolted) Turion MT-34 with a fanless Scythe NCU-2005. His S12 is the only fan in that system. The 2004 with purple stickers are good. As long as you've got the purple stickers you're OK.

Yeah MCP655 is the same as the D5 and it is NOT QUIET AT ALL! The 1046 and CSP-MAG really blow it away it's not even comparable. Who needs insane flow rates when today's best waterblocks are designed for low-flow?
