i agree that intel needs amd around, even if they don't want them around. but I don't believe they would be allowed to invest in them. Samsung, or a large Taiwanese concern seems a natural to eventually take over AMD. IBM is a long shot.

beware of this drive. seeks are driving me crazy! I tried to enable aam and it says it's NOT supported. It's much louder than my last drive which was a single platter WD 160gb, although it is faster.

That case was just updated by Antec. have you checked out the SOLO? there is a deal at FRYS on this great case. It's a bit smaller than the one you reference. Most silencers by far choose either the solo or p18x for builds in this size.

The 360 was also labeled 80 plus in the Newegg specs. The problem is we need to get this verified from the "source" or the 80 plus website. So far we don't have it. I would not rely on Newegg specs for proof.

The only pcpc psu that shows up on the 80 plus site is the 750w model. Also when you drill down on the actual specs, it says 74% efficient. Also, there is no mention of 80+ that I could find for this psu on the pcpc site, only on the newegg description. Any more info on this being 80+ and also if th...

Right now, Scythe is doing the best job up and down the line of delivering performance at reasonable prices. Zalman should be taking notes. The pricing of the Mini Ninja is the latest example.

the news on nsk1380 is potentially significant. It is either a total redesign of the chassis (positive) or they have a nw sfx PSU that is 80+. Both are very interesting developments as I believe one of the weaknesses of the nsk1300 was a noisy non standard PSU. I also hope they have silicon mounting...

I am not sure. But not all motherboards do this. You should be able to get the specs of your motherboard and see if it does some kind of fan control on the CPU fan. Most modern motherboards do. Try and download the manual somewhere or go to the website and look it up. Good luck. If you don't have a ...

the cooler doesn't modify the speed of the fan, my m/b does. most modern motherboards should be able to. you should check on that. I am running a 65w Brsibane core 4400+ not overclocked using cool n quiet. the katana II is a nice cooler for the money. It performs on par with my Zerotherm bt90.

I have the Scythe and the fan will spin at ~ 750 rpm unless its really hot out. It's really quiet at that speed. You have a very low power chip there and the fan shoud stay well below the rated 1500 rpm. There is a review of this cooler on the site. I would look also at the mini ninja which is about...

the p180 is a product that slowly got momentum after kind of stumbling out of the start gates, and now is a modern classic. that is a testimony to its design and antec quality. I have a solo and the attention to detail is amazing. I am waiting to have a look see at the mini 182.

the su-380 is also a seasonic psu and isn't bad at all. I did a fan swap to a low speed panaflo and it was great. I have an ea380 and I don't have any coil whine or annoying noises coming out of it. However, I am not fanatical about my sounds. 8)

nice review. I expected better from this PSU for the price. The Corsair 500w PSU is a bargain by comparison. This seems to be a farily ordinary PSU except for the price, which is extraordinary. It seems Fortron has yet to get a handle on low noise PSUs the way seasonic has.
