I believe the Nexus Breeze channels all the exhaust air through the PSU? If that's the case then it wouldn't be unusual that the PSU fan would constantly ramp up as this isn't an ideal design.

Check for dust. I had this problem with a 7000 cooler and found a very furry heatsink. A hairdryer on cold fixed it. This made me start a positive pressure filtered-only air silent case project.

The 3000B has vents for cpu and gpu so they may give you the window effect you desire anyway (or not). As a silencing case it is brilliant though with excellent airflow. Removing the already installed fan mounts and fan is a simple exercise with a screwdriver. The discussion of hacksaws is more abou...

Re: P180 vs other Antec cases

I am considering the P180 as a case as well as the SLK3700BQE or an acousticase case. The SLK3000B is better than the 3700 (see reviews on this site), and a damn fine all rounder with significant flexibility. The 180 seems to have a lot more quirks, is more expensive and harder to get the most out ...

Powersaving features throttling the cpu? They can make it look like you're using a heck of a lot of cpu when in actual fact the cpu is only running at 600Mhz. Oh and I assume you're on a pentiumM, not a pentium4M as they are different things and the p4M is a cooker and doesnt come in a 1.7.

From the sounds of the description he's probably talking about the aerocool turbine fan which I have 2 of. http://www.aerocool.com.tw/p-accessory/turbine%20fan/turbine%20fan.htm For what the spec is worth the claim is Noise: 19.66 dBA at top speed of 950 rpm. Assuming you use the same RPMs from one fan to the other, then yes the extra static pressure would be helpful. That's exactly the point of showing that measurement.

I could never get a Zalman fan down to silent. It stops before it ever gets quiet enough. This is "quiet enough by SPCR standards" I mean.

For cheap setups that are still damn quiet with minimal effort you shouldn't ignore the arctic cooling freezer series. Friends that want quieter but aren't interested in modding I have put on to these coolers and they can't believe their ears or their wallets.

Well you're not going to believe this... I tested them out and acoustically they ...

Ok here are some more goodies. I've completed a PSU fan swap and it looks like this at 12v (click to enlarge): http://ck.kolivas.org/cooling/psu_turbine2000_640w.JPG The illumination gets dimmer as I said at lower voltages or with pwm control. It does appear to be working extremely well in the PSU p...

My impression

Ok mine arrived and I've played with it for a day or so. Here is my mini review: I purchased the "2000" model which has chrome blades and a black surround. Here are some photos - click to enlarge to full size. Here's what it looks like in the packaging: http://ck.kolivas.org/cooling/turbine2000_case...
