HX520 as i said, but i'm moving it to other system. And you confirmed what i thought, i will need a PSU after all :). So the choice is AT3IONT-I (the standard PSU version, without Wifi/BT/remote - none of them matter in my case) + Seasonic S12II-330 Bronze. The price is pretty much same - 168€ for...

Atom 330 fileserver - power supply ?

Hi, i'm getting rid of my Athlon X4 II 620 + 785G board due relatively high idle power usage of the whole system, plus it is way too powerfull my simple single user fileserver use :). The current setup (above + 3GB RAM + HX520 + 3 Noiseblocker fans+Adaptec 1430SA controller for 4 SATA ports) take ab...

The only good 92mm appears to be the Noctua. Their 80mm is not so good. The only good 80mm appears to be the Scythe s-flex. How do you mean this ? My two 8cm Noctuas are absolutely impossible to hear @ 800RPM in this case, and i'm normally can't stand any noise when i go to sleep - but i don't hear...

ICH10R is pretty much what is P55/H55/H57 now, as northbridge stuff is in CPU in Core i3/i5/i7 8xx. Just look at boards and if you see RAID support, that means you got pretty much ICH10R. If it doesn't support RAID, then it is a plain ICH10. I know this is a bit of oversimplification, but it's enoug...

Power difference when using same voltage between Sempron 140 and Athlon II X4 is minimal, so you choose your CPU according to your needs and not by some imaginary TDP rating. I have a 785G DDR3 board, the power usage at idle was exactly same, because while i was able to undervolt the Athlon II X4 62...

PC-A05NB - questions before buy & mod

I'm planing to do my next build with PC-A05N, and asking the modder who will do modifications to the case to do the following : Replace both the power button (and power LED) and reset button (and HDD led) with bungal vandal switches, both in red light/black button combination, power should be 19mm a...

Btw to the fan question - considering the fan mount looks like exactly like it was in ISK300-65, then it is relatively easy. Just unmount the fan holder, replace the fans (use screws) and put it back. The only thing you had to take care of were the fan cables if you use 2 fans. Btw with 2xNoctua R8 ...

Well, there is still a option of using a 8cm fan if possible :

This one has 1000RPM minimum.

Main point of DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort is digital transfer of signal. You will know what we talk about when you will have to connect a laptop to a LCD display and you will see nice "waves" moving from top to bottom - that is a grounding loop and it happens very often. This doesn't happen with any di...

Idle temperatures of HD5870 with TRad2 were comparable to idle temperatures of HD4850 with TRad2, about 35-40C. Gaming temperatures are usually at 60-75C range, and Furmark is impossible to cool down. That with VRM cooling with Thermalright VRM-R4. PS: Idle temp of 19C, in UK ? I'm sorry, but your s...

It should fit, as the holes are positioned at same spots as HD4870 had. But there is a catch - my T-Rad2 was barely enough to cool this card, so i'm unsure how will your Zalman perform.

But maybe those statements were incorrect, i don't know as i turned any sleep off right after i got the drives. 3. ...

I'm not 100% sure that Socket 1155 means end of Socket 1156. I expect it to be a situation like AM2/AM2+/AM3 - the difference in pins is identification, nothing else. So you won't be able to put a i5 750 to S1155 board, but you will be able to put a new CPU in S1156 board and it will run in some sor...

So: 1) WD10EADS - i have 4 of them, if you hear anything then it is usually the platters. 2) WD10EARS - i have two WD20EARS, they have a noise similar to the WD10EADS (read minimal). The biggest problem with these picoPSU is the initial power draw of hard drives. For example a WD Caviar 320GB has a 1.77A peak power usage, which is of course at the start - so with more hard drives you can easily hit the 8-12A maximum of the picoPSU. With 1-2 hard drives, you should be OK. More th...
