Friend of mine got one from Computergate.com in his quest to reduce the monthly electric bill caused by a 24/7 on system. I haven't heard it personally to match up against my Fortron 120mm yet, and I won't know how electric bill is affected till the end of this month.

Sweet duct work :D (now that I can see the pics) Ed, thanks for pointing out that Rockler carries these parts. I had given up on ducting after checking Home Depot and finding nothing usable. I stopped by the Torrance location on the way home and it looks like they have everything I need for a muffle...

I used to work as a Gateway technician when the 500 series came out last year. Looking at the current line they haven't changed the case configuration so I can say the PSU's are the normal ATX shape and connectors are compatable but the case has *no* PSU screws in the back and uses a tool less lever...

supply...then again, keep in mind I deal with these extremely quiet power supplies all the time (silenx, nexus, verax, zalman) which do generate very low air flow. The 120mm fortron isn't pushing as much air as those damn loud vantecs or enermax, if you tend to compare with those more "mainstream" ...

Also think about getting a Zalman Multi adaptor, it is very cheap and converts from a single 4-pin molex to 2x 5v 3pin + 2x 12v 3 pin connectors. Perfect solution for multiple fans.. I can't remember exactly where, but in one of the threads here at SPCR I read that these things can actually make no...

I find it hard to believe these 120mm Fortrons can even be considered silent, they're friggin loud in my opinion. :) They do push a ton of air, I must admit. But look inside and you realize how dinky the heatsink on that power supply is, no wonder it requires such a large fan. The fact the fan is n...

Well I took the plunge and picked up the 350W 120mm from XPdirect based on the positive feedback here. It's defintely is quieter than my generic PSU modded with a Panaflo and moves more air more efficently since the intake is directly above my cpu. When comparing the two side by side I noticed my ol...

Nvidia ran into severe fab and design problems after they commited to the Geforce FX design. Thus they had no product to release when ATI Radeon 9700 took off with the speed lead. Now the Geforce FX series is so late it's just essentially a DX9 product refresh of the existing Geforce 4 series.

Technically having more water only delays the inevitable because without a a way to radiate the heat, the system would eventually overheat. I would concentrate on finding a decent large radiator and you should be able to passively cool that kinda wattage. A small car radiator comes to mind.

From most reviews I've read the Zalman flower design is quiet, but you can do measureably better with a massive Alpha or Swiftech heatsink and a quiet Panaflo fan. I went with a Alpha for my Athlon XP 1700+ and it's worked out quite well. However I suppose if you ducted the Zalman like in Rusty's de...

Both the Alpha for the P4 and Athlon use 80mm fans only. You can use a fan adapter to accommodate 90mm and 120mm fans if you have enough clearance around/above your cpu.

Does anyone actually own this case? And could you post any experiences with it?
I'm interested in buying one but it looks like it has some ventilation issues, and it's $155 w/o PSU. Here's some interesting claims.

I just saw one of these at CompUSA under the PC Toys brand name, so they do have a US distributor. Actually I was refering to the Badong product, not the Zalman fan and duct. Also to note, CUSA only sell the Zalman part bundled (fan/sink/duct) and not seperate (I'd only want the blue plastic duct)....

looking for **thin** 80mm x 20mm fans

I'm trying to find a replacement 80mm x 20mm fan (normally they are 25mm thick) for a mATX psu. However, I can find no vendors that carry these sized parts. Does anyone know where I might buy them?
