Wow.. I just realized your first post was load temps. Which means my reported "idle temps" are higher than your load temps. Doesn't that suck ass..
Wonder if I can get an RMA or something..

I have both the HR 03 GT and the Accelero S1.. considering it costs half the price and that it uses much less space than the thermalright.. the Accelero S1 is a definite winner. Tested in the same case, the Accelero S1 with a Turbo module is only 1 degree behind my HR 03 GT. On load, it was roughly ...

According to my motherboard utility.. the chip is 32 degrees on load while running OCCT. It sounds about right.. judging by the lack of heat from the cooler. I also did what you did, the air coming out of the cooler is definitely cold. I know my TRUE on my Q6600 feels a bit warm after loading all fo...

And so.. thinking I screwed it all up. I took the heatsink off. Lapped it. Reapplied my lovely Tuniq TX-2. Made sure it is seated perfectly this time. Not taking a second peek. Voila, I shaved off 1 degree. I guess the temp sensor is busted. The heatsink again does not feel at all hot even during a ...

I got a Noctua NH U12P.. the E8400 idles at very high temps. In the Bios (Gigabyte EP35-DS4), the CPU Temp is detected as 23 degrees. Updated to the latest F3 bios, same reading. In Core temp, it shows 49/42 Idle. In Real temp, it shows 39/32 degrees Idle. I opened up the case to touch my heatsink, ...

Fitting an I/O Shield in a P150
This is the second time I'm fitting in an I/O shield (P35-DS4 shield) into the P150. For some reason, it does not want to go in. I've been trying for 2 hours now. My fingers are getting sore. I even tried hammering it in from the inside. I just don't know what else to try. Can anyone gimme some advi...

I thought it was just fine looking. It's a big radiator - straight and to the point. And it cools my ATI card like nothing I've ever seen. I dunno, my fins were bent.. not really pleasing to look at. If you look at the picture on Newegg, that don't look so good either :) The HR 03 is just damn fine...

I purchased one of these after alot of thought. I needed a dual slot and lightweight solution and this seem to fit the bill. The money I've spent on this cooler however, costed as much as the HR 03 GT after all the additional ram sinks were added in. My first impression of this was that it was very ...

the only thing that upsets me is .. lack of dual gigabit lan.. i needed two.. with one dedicated to virtualbox.. damn it Then you want the DFI board I mention above. MX-2 is better than AS-5 Btw.. :D Is this true or are you just joking? And what is MX-2? Not joking. I was going to buy AS-5 for my new build then someone replied MX-2 is better. Gigabyte has 6 phase pwms.. if it makes any difference.. I looked at the Abit ones alot.. cuz they are priced around the same as gigabyte... in the end.. i went gigabyte because of.. - 889A audio versus 888 audio (what;s the difference.. i dunno.. higher the better?) - 6 phase versus 4 phase (asus i...

From where I'm located, thermal adhesive is hard to find locally.. and buying it online.. wow.. might as well buy some new ramsinks. I'd say buy two sets of the zalman vga ramsinks.. cheap and easy to find. They are guaranteed to stick! On another note, does the vrms/mosfets.. really need heatsinks?...

The only thing that is different is the heatpipes.. frankly they are worth jack. I'd say go with the ds3p. Crap.. I had always assumed ds3p had 1 pci-e.. o cr...

Only AMDs have memory controllers integrated into them at the moment. The only thing that could affect memory performance would be the bus speed. How would Speedstep be...

P5K-E Speedstep + Overclocking
Is there anyone out there that is using Speedstep on a P5K-E while overclocking a CPU? More importantly, does it work properly? On idle, not only should the multiplier drop, the vcore should also drop. I have verified this to work on my Gigabyte P35-DS4 but the board is some 40 bucks more expensive ...

My post got deleted on HardOCP for saying they should have tested the AC S-1, lol. I guess they got a flood of posts about that. On a side note, it seems that the HR-03 is assumed to be better because it's more expensive. Does anyone else kind of get that impression? I know there is the whole mount...

Thats what I want to see also. S1 versus the HR 03 GT.. no doubt the S1 will be superior to everything else in that chart.seraphyn wrote:From the coolers used, it was clear from the get go that the HR03 would be winning. No surprises there.
What would've been interesting to see was a HR03 vs S1 standoff.

Expanding on this a bit. Out of curiousity i fitted a Nexus Real Silent fan on top of the S1. On inaudile level (600RPM) this resulted in a drop in temperaure to: Idle: 40C Load: 46C When ramping up the fans to max (1000RPM) temperatures drop even lower. Idle: 32C Load 35C Holy crap. I think the Asus P5K-E Wifi board is hard to beat with it's features and price. Alot of people however recommend gigabyte and abit boards. So far, I'm loving my gigabyte P35-DS4 board..
