What audio recording software will you be using?

A few DAWs (digital audio workstation) know how to use multiprocesing quite well

Have you considered going Q6600? this CPU is low cost now and might deliver 75 - 80% more preformace in audio.

The antec fans are quiet at low and they are fine with regrads to cooling. Im getting good venting from the front since I didnt use the top drive bay (I took it out). i personally prefer the front to back fan configuration in PSU's, and would go with the Antec Neo HE 430w a front to back would benifit a P150 or SOLO setup. it sucks in cooller air from the front (ducked or not) as oposed to the hot air from cpu. this has been shown in more than a few reviews. on ...

id go with the p5k or the Ga-P35.
the intel p35 chipset give better memory preformance
also the p5k seems to have a heatpipe that runs heat to the rear fan
depending on your case this could be an advantage
