GigE is handy if you move a lot of files around your LAN, or big files, or video stream. If it is only occasional moves of average (<100MB) files then 100 mbps is fine. If the price and features are close however you might as well go with a GigE router for some future proofing. --- The cable company...

Sure you can silence a crappy PSU. And when you're done you'll have a quiet crappy PSU. You generally get what you pay for. Buying a low quality PSU might save you a few bucks on the PSU but if it fails (which is more liekly with lwoer end units) it may take your video card, hard drive, motherboard,...

Assuming the wave's are in phase then a doubling of audio power (translates as volume) is a 3 dB increase. However what a person hears goes beyond the numbers. Sound waves of almost equal content and out of phase can perceptually reduce the effective level by canceling out the sound waves from anoth...

I have a PCP&C Silencer 750 in my workstation. At anything under full load for a good bit of time it is fairly quiet but by no means silent. 90% of the time however I cannot hear the PSU fan over the blower on my HD4870 (fan set to 30%) which is fairly quiet when under the desk (faint whoosing)

It's not just the airflow volume but its path. It is possible that by blowing air horizontally below the card, and hence below the S1 and it's fans, you are starwing the two Nexus of some of that airflow which effectively reduces the air the push through the S1. Out of curiousity, what happens to th...

The hard part is finding that many bays in a matx mobo case. There are some matx cases with a multitude of drive bays but they are 3.5" not 5.25" and less than the 10 desired.
