Ok. Warm days were coming and I saw the 8800 Ultra KO getting up to 85C . This is not not good, something is wrong, or this mod doesn'thold upand overclocked Ultra I then made my research and ordered a Thermalright HR-03 Plus. That meant to go back to my old sound card (Bluegears B-Enspirer PCI) whic...

One question, how did they manage to fit that 120mm fan in font of the video card. I've tried that alrady inmy p182 which looks älmost exactly like this one"and IT"S IMPOSSIBLE. The fan willoverlap that 8800 no matter what, did they modified the holes in orderto put that cage a little bit tothe right...

I see that Wibla. Thanks! But what about the fan? I don't see it fitting in there. I really don't think that the exhaust and push fan of the CPU can take care of that. My 8800 is an Ultra... Maybe I'm wrong. One thing I've always wanted to know, is how you really keep the ramsinks that come with the...

That's awesome!!! Thanks for sharing these pictures. My only question about having two fans is noise.Wouldn't be better to have only one instead of two? Also I'm kind ofwondering,I know many people have said that sleeved fans are not good for horizontal mounting, which applies for the nexus fans as ...

Thanks guys for your kind words! I'm trying to report all my work in here, in case some others want to use the VF 1000. I'm not sure that the HR-03 works well in the inverse way. This case is ATX and the inverse way works better in BTX configurations. falcon26, glad to hear from you.... I did tried ...

Oscar's Silent Powerhouse P182 (now w/ VF1000) 56k warning

HI All: When you' go through all the detailed mods and the entire thread, you will find the VGA mods I've made here led to nothing but 3 big lessons: 1) The P182 is a good case but overrated and not good for gaming. 2) Nothing beats the stock cooler on the 8800 Ultra in this configuration . Not even...

Quiet HIS Radeon X1900XTX for Sale

I hope this is not considered spam: I know that some of you hae been looking for a really silent X1900XTX video card. And here is your answer, I'm selling my HIS Radeon 1900XTX Ice-Q 3. Some people might want the card itself, and some others are interested to have the amazingly quiet cooler it has, ...

Hey flacon26:

Long time don't here from your great looking rig.

Just a question, what are you getting instead of the HR-03?

I'm looking into the Accelero Xtreme, but just for curiosity, are you getting a new card or a new cooler?

As far as I understand the 9800GTX has more decibels than the 8800GT and the 8800 Ultra. Be warned, but I hope I'm wrong.

I have a good plan for it.

I'm going to order it, and instead of adding the 3 fans that come with it, I'll ziptie two 120mm Scythe fans.

This guy just made a mod. And I plan to improve it....

Let see if other people do the same.

Rules: When overclocking always : -Disable SpeedStep -Disable C1E Support - And if your mobo has a setting to damp the vdroop that the motherboard generates, ENABLE IT. Motherboard is idling at 38C.

I did the measurements with ASUS probe.

The 2 cores running behind 5-10C is normal. I've check other guys with similar or exact builds, totally normal behavior in these Penryn chips.

No, they didn't let air go through as they should. This was one of the flaws on the P182's design as pointed by Mike Chin.

Now if you see the pictures above, there is one with two doors. The door on the right is the orginal, and the one on the left how they look after modding them.

I'm not talking about the Thermalright HR, I can't fit that thing on an Asus X38, no at least with a 120mm fan.

I'm talking about the Zalman VF1000 GPU cooler.
