Arctic Cooling Alpine64 on a X2 4600?
Wasn't sure the Alpine 64 could handle a 4600+, until I found this: http://www.abyteapart.com/articles/alpine_64/4/ Those measurements were taken on a Opteron 144 overclocked to 2.7 Ghz. But add this to the frostytech review and I'm seriously considering this as a cheap and quiet(ish) cooler for a 4...

intriguing in what way? that it cools but as good as the stock cooling and generates only 2dBA less noise? http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2737&p=4 while running at slightly higher speed. Granted, we're only talking about 14 MHz while overclocked. It's unfortunate that AT didn't bothe...

None of the above? link. The review isn't particularly good, but the cooling system looks intriguing.

Correct - there is no fan. I asked around on the Ars forum, and the only problem one owner of the C720T experienced was a flimsy sliding cover.daba wrote:Is there no fan in the front?

Excellent, looks like this is the card for me. i'll be using phono outs most likely. I also have a stereo system, so game's shouldnt be an issue should they? The specific problem is lack of hardware acceleration for EAX (and Direct3Dsound). Whether that's an issue depends on how much you like rever...

Re: front fan
I agree with you, but that's the IW-Z720T.I300FU2AD , which has a 92mm rear fan and lacks a hard drive cage. The IW-C720T.I300FU2AD has the 120mm rear fan and a hard drive cage. I haven't spotted other differences — waitaminute , what's wrong with me?! The first one is a microATX case! I don't know...

Re: front fan
Looking at the pics on newegg, it doesn't look like there is a front fan mount.frankgehry wrote:Does it have a front fan mount. It looks like there are some vents in front but it doesn't mention anything in the specs.. The side duct looks interesting. - FG

Anyone tried this Inwin case?
I have fond memories of my old S500, but want something with stealthed drive bays and this Inwin C720T looks promising.
It's been mentioned in the forum, but nobody has posted about it. Anyone? Bueller?

Re: How are my temps?
I'm using an Athlon64 3000+ (CG stepping) in a Antec SLK3700-BQE with Zalman 7000A-AlCu (as well as a Samsung SP1614C). Normal: 53-62 deg. C CPU, 38-44 deg. C case Full load (Prime95): 66-70 deg. C CPU, 40-44 deg. C case FWIW, those are the CPU temps I get for my CG revision 3200+ on a MSI K8T Neo ...
