The change in idle temps indicates that something in your system changed. Did you change the speed setting on the CPU fan? Did you change you case fans or thier speeds? It sounds to me that the CPU cooler shifted and does not have good contact with the CPU. What happened if you open your case so tha...

Looks like a serious attempt to build a fully integrated quite PC case. The built in HDD case and suspension if it was done correctly looks like it could be a real winner but there is only one of these. It also looks like it will have very good HDD cooling. If someone gets one of these please let us...

Fanless high amperage single voltage DC power supplies are available with more than enough power to handle a PC. These units have been in production for decades and are large and some what costly. The limitation is that the DC to DC converters (to convert 12V DC into 5V and 3.3V DC) that are availab...

If you heat sink is one with heat pipes you might try placing the temp sensor on the heat pipe near the heat sink base. My heat sink has heat pipes and I can feel them change temps very quickly when I stress the CPU. Much more so than the fins or base of the heat sink.

You might also consider water cooling the hard drive. There are some WC HDD cases available that look like they could have a significant impact on noise levels and this would also remove the HDD heat from the case.

Keep in mind that the 90nm parts have about a 40% smaller die. Therefore to keep the temps the same the amount of heat produced will have to be less. Give the much smaller die a 5C temp increase is very small and I would have expected much higher temps if the power consuption was the same. Given thi...

If you create the same amount of heat in a smaller area it will be hotter. So this does not nessarily indicate that the 90nm parts have higher leakage levels. Since AMD has been kicking Intels back side with the 130nm parts they could take the time to make sure that they had it right. Other sources ...

Phase cancelation of noise does not work very well at higher freqs. In addition, it really does not work well at the source. Most because the source in this case is large compared to the wave length of the noise (high freq = short wave length).

Have you tried ducting this to the exhaust fan. If all of the exhaust air were to flow through the fins of the cooler this might be enough air flow even if the exhaust fan is a small one.
