Yeah, the access time alone should see to that :)

Hexus review of the 64GB C300

What I want to know is, will I see the same performance on my old 965P chipset (Windows 7)?

Is there anything new chipsets added for SSDs that my old chipset won't do well?

Nice system and nice article :) I'd like to know a little more about the HDD configuration though. Is the storage drive set to power down completely or does it just idle? Did you use it at all during testing? I think in the past SPCR have said that's thin acoustic dampening material is next to usele...

I could have sworn the heatsink testing took place inside an ATX case, or was this something that was stopped a long time ago? Actually, I think it's the PSU test I'm thinking of... Something I always missed (while I believed this is how testing was done) was in addition to the 12v/7v/5v test ...

But if your hearing is so sensitive that 700rpm is too loud, then you could go with your lower powered card and run with .. say 600 rpm instead. If you can hear that through a sound proofed case well... My HDD does annoy me. My storage requirements are pretty low so as soon as a decent performing 2...

Ordered a Sapphire HD 4670 Ultimate in the end from ebuyer for £58 delivered. They are fetching more than this on ebay so if a passive 5670 comes along at a good price I might just upgrade at the time. Unfortunately I can't find my power monitor to do a before and after measurement against my 7300G...

For info, the Asus 5570 is now in stock at several UK retailers. The cheapest I spotted (with free shipping) was here: Ginger6.com Thanks for the heads up :) The 4670 seems to perform marginally better in most reviews (except Tom's) and I can get it about £8 cheaper. Which has the lower idle power...

Yeah seriously considering a 4670. Think the 5450, though an upgrade on my 7300GT, is just too weak.

Is there any warrant to that 4670's green claims?

Right now I'm considering just getting a GT 240! I've seen a passive version already and performance figures suggest it's better than the 5670 (in StarCraft bet at least!). Even if you can't find the Go Green easily there is a non Green version of the fanless 5750 that will still beat the GT240 and...

Don't forget a HDMI to DVI cable is often cheaper than paying the difference in price on getting a card with 2 DVI connectors on the 5xxx series cards if you don't care about the gaming performance difference. Indeed. Just my current card only has DVI + VGA so it needs to go. Can I take an HDMI por...

Thanks a lot for your detailed response. The Asus 5570 looks like a very decent option. I have seen a few Sapphire Ultimate HD 4670s on ebay and I'm wondering if for the price they go for (~£50) they'd be good value for money performance and power efficiency wise? I am trying to get a hold of anoth...

Re: hellooooo-o

Hello... it would be nice to test heatsinks mounted on AMD mobo for a change! Doesn't really matter... if it performs well on this hot Intel CPU it should perform well on any AMD CPU. The main thing is that all other heatsinks have been tested on this platform so it makes sense to keep using it for...

I find myself visiting sites like SPCR and TFT Central several times a day just to check if there's any new news or reviews. IMO the whole 2nd fan issue is exaggerated, since it only becomes apparent when testing outside a case. To me this is an argument for testing outside a case, and I say that as a supporter of 'in case' cooler testing. As the rest of your post shows, once in case other variables come into play which ...

P180 Mini solves the size issue somewhat... but you'd also need a mAtax mobo if you don't already!

I hadn't actually, thanks for the link. The Green looks fantastic, any idea what they've done to the card to reduce power consumption? I agree it would be madness for SPCR to turn down reviewing a hot product such as this! It's good for publicity, if nothing else. I just question the manufacturer's thinking in this case is all, other than free brand publicity, which you can't really argue with. Do SPCR have to return the card in th...
