Re: Building a case
Why not make some more room for cable management and the cables for better durability and more airflow? Cables shouldn't have to twist and turn in a case.

Re: Possible to quieten CM-690 II Lite?
I'm my opinion, it's a low quality case because of thin metal but sure, with vinyl and foam while removing the sucky HDD bay it should be almost as quiet as any case, depending on your cooling and hardware of course. Why not mod a Nexus Prominent 9 instead?

Re: Building a case for minimum noise
It would be beneficial to have the exhaust vent a little bit higher up. 1mm steel would be sweet, good luck. Thanks a lot for the input, I've decided to to move it up a bit. Get a coolermaster cosmos and block the extra fan holes with sound absorption material. http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2700 http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=539399#p539399 I've read that the Cosmos has way to little space for cable-management and the hole...

Re: Building a case for minimum noise
A) What material(s) are you looking at? B) Are the black rectangles near the motherboard for cable routing? C) Is that a HDD horizontally mounted above the HDD inlet fan? Looks like it may interfere with airflow over the other 4 drives? D) How will you arrange the cords for HDD suspension? Looks ne...

Building a case for minimum noise
I've been considering building a case now for a while and have been exploring different cooling solutions. To minimize noise directly to user I plan to have only intakes in the bottom of the case and a single exhaust in the back: http://i56.tinypic.com/mht284.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/2hfm5g9.jpg 4...

I'd urge to buy Nexus Prominent 9 instead, only 5.25 slots. Lacks dustfilters but that can be fixed by homemade solutions.

Re: small, quiet mini-ITX gaming build
Or the 6670, which is probably still a decent amount slower than the 5750, but still should be pretty good and more power efficient. That's what I plan to use personally for my htpc/lan box once the price drops to around $70 Yeah it's probably more than powerful enough for most games to on moderate...

HD5670 isn't the fastest card without need for extra power from PSU, lots of HD5750 cards are efficient enough as well, including mine. No, actually just one. The Powercolor GoGreen! Re: Lian-li B25FWB or Lancool K62B upgrading from TT Soprano
I think front-doors are overrated. Back in a day they didn't exist and quiet computers still did exist. What really does matter is your choice of components and swapping all stock cooling and fans, My modded Chieftec BX is quieter compared to my dampened P182 because it has fewer hard-drives, fanles...

Re: NZXT H2 Classic Silent Midtower Chassis
As for ventilation improvement there are a few other less intrusive options as well: - Add short legs to improve the bottom intakes. - Remove some or all of the foam on the door to provide a wider passage of the air to reach all fan areas. -- legs don't change the blocking effect of the VGA card to...

Is the HDD bay wide enough for elastic suspension?
The case would be nearly flawless if there where better ventilation in the door.

Re: NZXT H2 - A worthy successor for P180?
Yeah the fans themselves still have 3-pin connectors (only short cables, though, which may make fitting longer cables a bit tricky). And yes, the side panel material is just foam rather than bitumen. Re: NZXT H2 - A worthy successor for P180?
NZXT has always made cheaper cases than Antec but the Hush is a high-quality case. im not saying nzxt makes low quality cases, im just saying that they're kinda targeting a different market. I don't really think they are in different segments, P182 was once in the same price-range, at least in swed...

Re: NZXT H2 - A worthy successor for P180?
NZXT has always made cheaper cases than Antec but the Hush is a high-quality case. All included features including Hot-swap marks should be features of a higher priced case. From the looks of the side-panels they seem rigid enough and the dampening reminds me of Antec Solo vinyl. P182 was much cheap...

Solo is still the best case when quietness is concerned.
The new Nexus Prominent 9 has lots of space for suspension and is dampened but there is no door in the front and the top is ventilated. I think this case would be superior if dampened right.

Re: Your opinion on "the perfect"case..
For silencing I think the case should be totally closed with exeption for the bottom and the back. A creative effective intake in the bottom of the case and one or two fans in the rear would be a perfectly quiet case. Seriosly considering adapting these ideas to a brand new casemade out of wood.

I hate 40 mm fans so much. They really should be forbidden.
Why not install a slim 80 mm fan instead? Should provide enough airflow and at the same time be quiet enough and won't take up that much space.

Re: Lian Li PC-B25S Mid-tower Aluminum Case
You mentioned that space behind the motherboard tray is a bit to little. Is it because of the metal-bar separating the upper section from the lower or is the space simply much less compared to Fractal Design R2, Antec P182 and P183? The front filters are easy to remove and so is the HDD cage and fan...
