Re: WD Blue SSHD 4TB & 1TB Hybrid Drives

the pauses would kill me. I dont use Itunes for songs. But, I do que up lots of songs and some are albums. That pause would make me want to stab people. Anyway of keeping the drive going nonstop? Making me think that I should get 1TB 850 EVO and a 256 EVO. That would probably have enough space for a...

Re: WD Blue SSHD 4TB & 1TB Hybrid Drives

big slow data drive hm. I see HGST has great longevity in servers, the 2-3 tb ones. I was thinking one of them. That would be enough, a 512gb samsung or intel and 2-3 tb drive. More than i would need in my tower.

Any recommendations for 5400-5700 rpm drive HGST?

Re: WD Blue SSHD 4TB & 1TB Hybrid Drives

would it make less sense getting this as a secondary drive and buying a 512 gb SSD as primary? Is this meant for main drive and as a secondary data/music/movie/some excess games be not a great idea? I wonder if i should just get a 2-4TB storage drive that isnt hybrid. I liked the idea of hybrid load...

I also would look at Lian-Li small cases. they make a lot of sense, are really nice looking and built well.

If you have low wattage components, i think it is a fine device. If you game, I would say it would get hot inside there. Would it get too hot? i duno. I think probably not. If you were worried, I would put fans on the top with an on/off switch. That way you can game and turn them on, or close the co...

hm. i have not dealt with 140's yet. I tend to run my fans slightly higher speeds than most SPCR people. I need to buy a whole set of them for the case and cpu heatsink this week.

More heavy plastic less ticking, less resonating and less sound transfer. They make musical instruments out of metal and not plastic for a reason. My 3 years with acrylic cases has shown how great heavy plastic is compared to metal. Also, I have keep a rather tidy interior. Sometimes I even put some...

makes me wonder how many things i throw out that I could have tried something with.

I am always afraid of shorting and burning a socket on a motherboard. Nowadays though, the motherboard is like 50 bux and the cards are 200.

blah! a super low fan or using 2 fronts which go over the hd is not a bad idea. My hd temps are ultra low. Longevity of my gear and data is paramount to all things. In the past I have placed a ultra low rpm 80mm fan on the hd facing it flat on 8) I havent even switched to SSD. There are so many ques...

Re: Corsair 760T - Kinda freakin cool!

yes. good point. I could have done it there. I have a blu-ray reader and a high end Plextor dvd/cd burner. So the zalman fan controller is going in 3 slot. I know most people have a single solution drive. I do not. Even if i got a combo blu-ray player for cheap, I would still want to use the Plextor...

Why are people talking about 120mm fans still? curious

I am reading many posts about fans. It has been years since i was an active member here. I expected it to be like 80% 140mm and up fan talk and only a small area of 120mm fan talk. but no, most posts are dealing with smaller fans. Is not it the case that you can have lower rpms (by a lot) if you use...

that does look very cool. yeah USA prices on that is high. I have to find out where that would fit in my case. Those things often fit in cheaper cases. these hd's are all slim and tight fit hmmmm....

would be worth a purchase though if it could fit.

thank you much then :) I can't wait to get a GTX 750ti. been reading about how strong it is in games. I hear it uses less wattage than my 5770. This case has audible hard drive seeks. My acrylic case did not. even with the rubber screwless trays, it does this. Fortunately, windows 7 and 8 gigs memor...

the amd solution is much more elegant as well as dirt cheap. 4 cores will have a better overall experience than 2 any day. The price is so low, it is crazy. and amd boards have much more cool crap on them always. i dont even know why people compare them. I guess linux support is a tad less. I cant i...
