Re: TJ08-E / i3-3225 / HD400 / mATX GA-B75M-D3H - low power

Here is the way I suspended the HDD in the top of the case. I don't use any optical drive. suspended hd in TJ08-E sideview.jpg I did not use the round (camping?) rubber bands, like we can see on the SPCR article. I could not find thin ones, here. I used some flat elastic bands (from my wife's sewing...

Re: Any better ITX case than SilverStone SG06 for quiet conf

Also, reading through the forum, here they said the GA-Z87N-WIFI has a bad placement of the CPU , so it's not good into the Node 304. I am taking the GA-H87N-WIFI. Is it the exact sample CPU position? Is it also a problematic board in the Node? I got some answer on the OCN forum, that it can ...

I was posting from my phone. Now that I can search on a good PC screen, I see plenty of Node 304 with the HR-02. It looks nice. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/8900/rm0v.png In the end, I'm adding the Node 304 to my top list, together with the PC-Q07. It's bit more expensive, but it als...

For the future, consider Fractal Design Node 304, pretty nice Mini ITX case that allows the installation of big tower and a standard ATX PSU, more in line with your old build. Abula, When you wrote this, on my build topic, did you mean we can fit the ATX PSU and HR02 at same time? Or the HR02 Macho...

Good point.

Since we are keen in low consumption around here, maybe some could recommend lower idle commotion, on laser printer models?

Some brand are better than other for this?

I guess that's why I'm paying expensive HP cartridge. The heads are on it, if I remember. So it's never drying before the next set.
But more (too) expensive.

How long you can run on the same laser toner with your low printing frequency?
2-3 years on the same toner? More?

I think it might be the basic BIOS features. Don't know for the low settings for the fan.
I will search after the info. Thanks.

Re: Are the be quiet! PSes the only ones with fan controller

Just be careful into what motherboard you chose, most motherboards only have one true 4pin PWM fan header, most of the time is the CPU header, the rest even if they 4pin phisically, they are 3pin in disguise. So true! Since I am reading a lot of interesting ideas around here, yesterday I opened my ...

I agree with you Cistron, but STT Guy has a point. They would not get enough profit, by making a 200W SFX, because it would sell the same as the 300W. For the customer, it's quality first of course (and maybe more on that, for SPCR people. But we are far from the majority). But then, it's also the p...

I'm currently stressing mine, to try to identify the noise production, learn a bit, for my next build. I mainly hear the front 180mm fan. (764 rpm) And I think I can hear the CPU fan. I completely agree with Wayner. I am using my i3-3225 for everything I need, with no GPU card, just the HD4000. I am currently stressing it at 100% CPU. Got 70W on the plug. I only had a peak at 85W at the boot, when all drives start to spin, but otherwise it runs at 44W (on the plug), when idle and...

You are really starting to convince me for this Lian Li! :D I spent the day reading some reviews, looking at existing builds and configs, etc. I like the vertical shape, which leave a smaller footprint on the table. Ther are two things to consider: voltage and connectors. Generic laptop power brick usually deliver 19V, Pico PSU needs 12V. Pico PSU has a small round connector for the external power brick, not all bricks use the exact style and size. If you buy a bundle, you are on the safe side.. When searching...

Re: TJ08-E, going for near silent

Hi khaakon,
Since last year, did you keep your PSU with the opening down?
Did you compare with the other way, in terms of heat and noise?

Surely it takes more heat, when sucking air from the inside, but does it trigger too much the PSU fan? (making more noise?)
