Re: Go kittle!
Hey, don't worry too much, you're getting something out of it, up to number 14 in the producers list! With a 285 going all day, you should be pushing your way into the top 10, though. Not sure how much you'll need to worry about adjusting smp to gpu folding, I usually just crank them both up, and i...

What would be interesting is if compulsory voting would have the following effect: Canidate A: 15% Canidate B: 16% Canidate C: 15% None of the above: 54% results: Canidates A, B and C are told "thanks for trying, but the voters dont want any of you, try again next time" I think there would be some i...

Well i made sure it was processing when I left for work.. no visible errors and it wasnt sitting at an EUE msg (like my 6800 did all the time). but now i see the same thing as others. a 9am update.. and nothing at noon. followed by lots of blank space. Also I see a massive 7k point spike on friday.....

Something else to consider. Since the system is 1yr old, its possible you have some dust buildup. I would snag a can of compressed air, and clean out the gpu fan and the cpu fan (make sure you pull the power plug first). Its also quite possible that your failing (or failed) PSU has taken out other c...

For virtualization -- Go with as much RAM as you can afford. I have 6gb on my box and it runs VMWare just fine. Before that I only had 2gb and it wasnt pretty. im partial to intel, so id pick the intel, but with a xigmatek HSF. One comment on the PSU -- since you said your playing with gpu programmi...

Very interesting article.. and more than a few good chuckles. Im also one of the crowd who fried a PC with bad power. A friend and myself were busily fragging each other one nite when the PC he was using just up and rebooted, and mine hung. Both of us rebooted again, but the new PC he was using was ...

The big issue with 64-bit is drivers for older hardware. older hardware and older programs as well. in xp x64, any 16-bit program just wont work. so all my old DOS games just quit working when I upgraded. The only real problem was an older version of a database I use for development.. the installer...

Another thing to try: connect up a speaker to the motherboard -- in case you dont already. then remove the CPU and ram from the motherboard. When you power on, you should get a series of beeps from the speaker. if you get no beeps, chances are high the motherboard is toast. Elsewhere you can find mu...

ok hopefully what you wrote is a typo... but if I understand right, the 12v line on your psu is only providing 3v (THREE volts) ... as opposed to 13v? If so, then it sounds your PSU has some major problems. Which explains a lot of the resets you are seeing. But if you meant that the 12v line is 3v u...

something else to ponder on your UPS setup.. with regards to your 3 monitors, if you can get away with only plugging one of them into the UPS, then you'll have less power draw on the thing.
