Search in google for "Sapphire TriXX", new OC and fan regulator for 6800 series. Remember to report info about this piece of software, too.

Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 very silent and not even vapor-x

That's good news, but if the overall cooling is worse (due to 6850 needing more power and not being vapor-x) the fan has to spin faster at load to keep temperatures low. It all depends on how faster it has to spin. I'm just trying to use logic, i'm new to quiet/silent builds and still learning a lo...

Re: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 very silent and not even vapor-x

It seems to me that 6850 fan is the same of mine 5750 vaporx. In my rig, at 20-25% is a quiet fan, at late night too. So i'll go with the 6850, just my two cents

I don't know about idle, but in the link below they say the fan never went faster than 40% during their tests. Not exactly what you asked for, but it's something :) http://www.dinoxpc.com/articolo/Sapphire+Radeon+HD+6850%253A+AMD+riparte+dalla+fascia+media_1139-26.htm So the startup rotation is nea...

Thanks Anatorax. I like my P150, it served me very well, but i think it's time the get something better. Someone have the silver fortress? Is it possible to see some photos of your rigs guys? Just for curiosity, i didn't see it in forum gallery.

Re: Can't decide between P183 and Fortress 2, advice?

I'm interested in fortress 2 too, but i have doubt about the leght of cables in my psu. I need to accomodate more hd than my actual rig, and i will buy a more powerfull gfx card in a month or two. I need a better vented case with more space than my actual white beauty

I have mine mounted in my quiet build (in sign) with the P150 grommets-rails, and surprisingly this Caviar Black does not add to much noise. I think if u suspend it and activate AAM it will be relatively quiet.

WD 1TB Caviar Black: suggestions for a gaming disk

Hello my friends, actually i'm using an Agility2 SSD as a OS disk, this thing really fly, but now i need another drive for gaming purpose. WD is largely available in my city, WD1002FAEX seems a good performer, but is it too loud? I know it's not deadly quiet... but i don't think it is a screamer lik...

Vibration is very low, i think it's possible to hard mount it. It seems to me a little bit slow compared to 320GB/platter GP, but i'm using it anyway for gaming. Maybe it's subjective. After all, performance is not a big issue, games map loading is the same of the GP. I think it's ok for desktop use...

Mine HD503HI is very quiet, stay cool and low on vibration. Virtually no vibration when bare mounted on desk, too. When mounted with silicon screws in a P150/solo i can't hear any seek, my caviar GP 640GB had more seek noise. But i feel the caviar more quicker, i don't undestand why. Anyway, a great...

The good new is: it's very quiet at 20%, better than my stock 3850, and i can play for hours with this fan at 20% without issues, gpu never reached 55°C with...

Temperatures are ok, gaming is ok, too. But the fan setting don't work. Suggestions?

Opinions about Hitachi 7K1000.C

Hi folks, any user of this hard disk around the forum?
It seems interesting, one 500GB platter @ 7200rpm, and i hope a superb firmware from Hitachi. No review in internet, no report about noise, only some user in other forum that complain of high access time

The park feature (IMHO!) simply won't work under Windows because of the continuos little read/write operations of the OS itself, even with 24GB ram  So any green drive from western d...

I want to change my 3850 with a 5670. If it is 10-20% more powerfull, is ok for me.

I hope there will be a passive version. There is a 5750 passive, should not be difficult to do with the minor version.
Alternatively, the Powercolor 5750 "GO GREEN" could be an interesting purchase.

If i were you, i'll cancel the order, too. Radeon 5670 is more powerful in accord with some unofficial preview, and maybe more power friendly.
