Hmm. Maybe I can get a multimeter then. So how do you measure it? Just pick the HDD's power cables and stick the (whatever the measuring things are called) in the holes and turn the puter on? Should I disconnect the other cables, or do any other preparation for this?

Funnily enough, BIOS shows all the other rails but the 5V... Well I checked it on Speedfan and it looked OK, but I don't know accurate that is. Speedfan shows +4.92 and +5.19V. But this is obviously after a successful boot, maybe the values are different when it can't find the drives? But ironically...

BIOS trouble!

I have a pickle for you all... I have three hard drives. When I turn on the computer none of them are recognized by BIOS. I restart, and then sometimes they all are, or some of them are. So I keep restarting until I get them all to work. I changed the SATA cables, power cables, order of the HDD's......

i broke my HDD that had my OS, so now i've been messing around with OS's on my storage drives. i put vista on there... didn't like it... and now i'm running windows XP again. the MBR is probably not very pretty as it has traces of older installations i had on the now broken HDD, because i left the s...

how to stop DVD from ramping up?

is there a way to stop my DVD drive from ramping up whenever i click the "my computer" icon? the sound is annoying PLUS it takes a few seconds, and before it's ramped up i can't click the hard drives. i'm using windows vista ultimate x86. my DVD drive is a samsung SN-T082L (a slim slot-in model). i ...

well some on the list are larger than others... the huge LUXURY sedans are in a class of their own and cost about double the ones on this list... the ones here should still be considered big i think, because all the brands carry smaller sedans also... like the BMW 5-series isn't that big, but it's s...

hmm. yea i had done all that already, yet it doesn't work. so it seems it's just the PWR fan that works. the CPU fan might need something different. maybe u've ENABLED something in the BIOS for that..?

i dont think anything can control 4-pin fans from windows. all my fans are 3-pin.

can i control my fans under windows XP? i used to be able to do this with speedfan, but i haven't been able to make it work with my new motherboard - the GA-P35-DS3R. also i wouldn't mind if i could make em (all three of em that is!) ramp up when the CPU gets hotter. is that possible?

i have a Q6600, so the CPU has 4 sensors that are shown separately... i guess the 2nd sensor could be in some other place on the CPU... but that sounds pretty unnecessary.

obviously i have cooling problems, but it'd be nice to know HOW BIG cooling problems i have.

GA-P35-DS3x temp sensors?

where are the temperature sensors on the GA-P35-DS3x? are there any on the NB? i'm stressing my puter with prime95 and the highest temperature the motherboard is showing isn't really raising - it's pretty much the same as it was when idle - about 55-60C. if this isn't the NB it doesn't sound too good!
