I'm little concerned about drive failures...don't wanna lose my data  If not, what is the alternative? I'm searching for fast and reliable drive... Thx! The Samsung F1 is known to have problems ri...

We have had horror stories with any hard drive name after testing thousands over many years. The only protection is a good backup. Having said that, the Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB seems the best current drive, hands down. Of course, there's no guarantee. What I'm concerned about is unusually high num...

I have now installed the Samsung 32GB SSD in the X1. I'm using Windows XP, and it's snappier than my Core Duo D420 for the basic office applications I use--boots quicker too. And, of course, it's absolutely silent. If you like ultralights, this is a great combination. Even with the pricey drive, it...

Re: ohh yess

I've been thinking about getting an SSD drive for my D420 Latitude. At the Dell Community Forum there are several complaints about it really slowing down their laptop, with several examples of just how slow write times are. Are you experiencing any of these issues, e.g., very slow shutdown? I was w...

@matt2020: The question is, do you need OS X and certain application that work under it? If your application(s) work under both, mac and win, I'd prefer mac and OS X, especially for graphic design. And the tradition of Mac machines is that they're not very loud. Now, you really don't need 16gb of ra...

Look, there is no 3.5" hdds quieter than samsung. It is a little bit hotter than the WD, but nothing to worry. So, there are no new hard drives which are cold. That's the way it is...
