We have had horror stories with any hard drive name after testing thousands over many years. The only protection is a good backup. I have now installed the Samsung 32GB SSD in the X1. I'm using Windows XP, and it's snappier than my Core Duo D420 for the basic office applications I use--boots quicker too.
