i had the first eee pc and i prefer its keyboard for the most part to the dell's. i got my eee pc for 399 and the dell for 299. i have since sold the eee pc since 4gb is not enough to work with.

8gb on the dell is much better. the trackpad on the dell is superior to the one on the eee pc.

thanks for the reply. yeah i know about all the goodness of ahci, hotswap and stuff--it's a shame the spcr-speced t3 barebones has such an old southbridge and doesn't support all those neat storage features like multiplication. i ended up using a backplate off the 1 (out of 3) free onboard sata port...

eSATA question

Now after reading up on it, I know eSATA ports output more juice and the external cables are shielded but...is there any harm in using one of the onboard SATA ports on my mobo (that does not specifically support eSATA or port multiplication)to go to a backplate exSATA port to use with an enclosure w...

Got one of these for $139.99 CAD (on sale this week at NCIX for $129.99) and I'm surprised at how nice and well-made it is. Thought it'd be stereotypical Chinese gadget but the fit and finish on it are real nice. No RAID since I don't go for that (the RAID version is about $100 more) but essentially...

it takes and works with 4gb though you will get only 3.x gb usable just like every other 32-bit system due to memory being reserved for i/o for video cards. i ordered the base station w/o vista (i have vista ultimate) with 4gb ram. so e7300. i wish i didn't have to pay for the privilege of sending b...

I don't hate Macs, I just think the are less open to usefull software and freeware. We are stuck with the utterly annoying imaging software (microscopy) here at Uni, which drives me completely mental - no keyboard shortcuts... mouse mouse mouse, clicketyclick, mouse, mouse, etc. You are simply wron...

Overall satisfied with the system once I replaced the: -HDD -video card -DVD burner but cheesed off at not having an advanced RMA option at purchase/checkout for the system or having them cover shipping back a DOA defective HDD. As it stands, I'm out another $20 or so to courier out their defective ...
