Very nice machine! I almost went with the Mini 180, went solo at the last minute. Just knew I would not need the big fan :)

My build is viewtopic.php?t=57894

Silence is truly golden :)

Yeah, it is almost roomy in there :) And the cable management consisted of jamming the wires into the cages before the photo shoot. Never my strong point :)

I have to disassemble for the noctua fan if it ever arrives, so maybe then :)

Thanks. No electrical noise that I can tell. Not even going to try undervolting. No reason to. I MAY get some foam blocks to fill empty drive bays just on general principle to absorb and stray sound waves they possible can. I believe it will be an order of magnitude COOLER when my Noctua cooler come...

Soon to be a Corsair NOVA SSD, I hope :) then it would for sure be TOO Silent :) External DVDrw for when I need it. Noctua case fan is so silent...

I am using built in video, no cdrom drive, 1 hard drive so I wold not have to worry as mush about case temp, or system temp. I am using the stock Intel cooler for my i5-650 (another low heat chip 75 watts I think, as opposed to about 130 watts for a 920! Yikes!) until my Noctua 9B CPU cooler gets he...

I am in love with my Noctua 120mm case fan. I ordered a CPU cooler by them but it is a 92mm fan. Should be all I need.

I am sure they have 120mm CPU fans. Dave

I wonder if adding some dense foam blocks to the empty 5 1/4 bays would help? I have a solo, have not heard any noise yet, but I plan on adding blocks anyways. They are available at endpcnoise.com and some other places. I also took out the tri speed fan and mounted a Noctua silent fan with rubber gr...

I cannot prove it, but I suspect that Dell and others have known quiet computers are better for a long time. Over the years, I noticed that Dell were the most popular among clients and people I knew, and also the quietest. At least for some models. Apple recently had publicized that they had applied...

I am completely satisfied with my Nexus R5300. Dead silent. Would recommend highly.

caveat: I have maybe not stressed it much, so the fan may not have spun up much at all. But, that was why I got this. I designed my system to be high speed but low cooling needs.

I wanted modular also.

those are excellent ideas. I decided to go with a Noctua 9 with one fan to try it. Depending on how it mounts, I MAY try it with only case fan. I REALLY like my Noctua case fan. WICKED SILENT.

So I figured I would try another of their products.

NH-U9B SE2 for my new build?

I am in love with my new rig and want to get the right cooler. Currently, the stock Intel cooler is actually VERY quiet. But I did not set out for quiet, I set out for SILENT :) So, I am thinking of NH-U9B SE2 as my final cooler. I do not even think I will need more than one fan. I have a core i5-65...

No worries, your message came thru fine. the "lever" effect as you say makes me very nervous. That is why I was thinking Mini Ninja to begin with. And I wold never use something even that big unless it had a backplate. So, yes, it does have one. So, I am still not sure what I am getting. It is a har...

Amazing, booted on first try, just by placing my hard drive in, no reformat or anything. SWEET. SOLO case with noctua fan. STOCK cpu cooler, actually amazingly quiet. But maybe it has not been under load yet. Still, this puppy is very quiet. I will be taking my time to get a GOOD CPU cooler. I THINK...

Just because it has a back plate does not mean it is not heavy. I am going vertical, no choice there. I am not going to overclock, so I want the minimum than can do the job but with some serious wiggle room to make sure the CPU is cool.

I believe they are the same. I tested mine and it is as silent as I have ever heard, or in this case not heard, any PSU ever. Of course I did not have it under load. I do not actually expect it to be under serious load most of the time. We shall see. For me, computers and life itself both seem to be...
