Newegg raised the price by $10. Mwave is now cheaper for people outside of CA/TN. Zipzoomfly has lowered the price by $10 to be in line with newegg but still doesn't have it in stock. Tiger and Monarch still don't have a listing. Linkage: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec.hmx?scriteria=AA40450 htt...

When my PC is idle it stays at 1005 MHz (200 x 5.0). Is it possible to make it even slower or more aggressive in saving power? Nope, thats the minimum on the CPU. You really won't gain much if anything by trying to force a lower voltage than what cool&quiet is doing for you already. Your next choic...

Considering u can get the copper zalman for ~30 bucks and a good 7800 from monarch for around 300, this is too expensive But if you do that with any other 7800gt you'll end up with a higher power, hotter, noisier card. The big deal about this card is that it is the first and only 7800 card to leave...

I see that you are refering to the 6800xt but I'm assuming it is about the same power draw as the 6800gt. No, no, XT is half the pipes and with lower clock, possibly lower voltage too. Power draw should be lower than both 6600 GT and 6800 "vanilla". And is is .13 or .11 process? And do you know the...

I see that you are refering to the 6800xt but I'm assuming it is about the same power draw as the 6800gt. The 6800gt is produced using an older manufacturing process. 6800GT is 350MHz on 13 micron process. 7800GT is 400MHz on 11 micron process. In short the thinner traces and other advancements of t...

Well step #1 is to download the latest non beta BIOS. Unfortunately the BIOS releases are frequent and some are considerably better than others. The good news is that if you are going for quiet and not Overclocking you should be on the safe side. Spend some time in the BIOS and in the manual or on t...

Fair enough. One thing to point out right away is that the efficiency curves for the PSUs in the S12 line at typical power loads -- say 90W~250W -- are very close. There would be no appreciable difference, even in the long term, between going with one or any other of these PSUs except if you have a...

There has been much discussion on what power supplies are enough for this motherboard with 2 PCI express video cards on other sites.
