Latest rumors

Barts (67xx) cards will have 256bit memory bus
(makes sense because thay are based on 58xx PCB)

Cayman may be delayed until beginning of 2011
(which doesn't make sense missing Christmas sales unless they are having problems somewhere)

Radeon HD 6xxx

I'm going to jump the gun and make a thread.

Not much is known

To be announced in October, released in November
Named after Carribean islands (Barts, Cayman, Antilles)
Most likely same 40nm process, so don't expect better power consumption.

I'm really disappointed I own the Silentium T2 Eco and it is really well thought-through negative pressure case. My only problem in three years is that its PSU blocks use of long videocards. Most new super-efficient cars have some unconventional compromises -- because if you design a conventional car, you are almost guaranteed to have a conventionally efficient car as well. I understand of course. My opinion is biased, because I have two examples I can't get out of my head for years On...

Really don't like the height of the thing, makes it look weird.

This entry scheme reminds me of IFV like Bradley or BMP-3. Including the ducking to get to the seats.

So it is more tricky to get into but quite a bit taller than regular cars?

CPU fan - MB BIOS silent mode
GPU fan - GPU autoregulation
PSU fan - PSU autoregulation
Case fan - with PSU fan

So everything is automagical, everything works independent of OS.

Or if the PSU fan pushes cool air to PSU it will take already heated air because it is so near the heatsink (second picture). What do you think, is it ok? I could argue that with 80mm fan PSU takes up the hot air that rises to top of the case. So don't worry about that part. Many PSUs are advertise...

There could be a thin line you can cross.
Namely lower cpu voltage by having better cooling.

Say normal circumstance cpu runs at 4GHz 1.35V, but by lowering the temp 10C it will be enough to have 1.325V. And consequently power consumption will drop significantly.

Single 5870 will have better idle and load power stats and less trouble in game titles. And I believe it will come cheaper even with added custom cooling.

Take an expensive heatsink with largest cooling area and amount of heatpipes. Preferrably with ribs more apart, not too stacked. Use the default or 3rd party fan at 400-600-800 rpm (depending on your definition of silence) ... Profit I am very happy with my Thermaltake V1 at 600 rpm. Can't be heard ...

Serial hybrid is less complex than parallel, allowing for amazing designs and solutions. I would even cut amount of batteries in half - all-electric range in this case is not a big factor, when generator is so efficient.
