Fractal R3 and the stock Fans...
The fans in the Fractal R3, are they really that quiet? I am a silence freak and build my system for silence. The fan of choice for me is the scythe sflex at 800 RPM. Its dead silent yet pushed 30 CFM. Are the fractal fans audible?

Re: 6870 and Artic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro
Yes buy a reference model. The custom ones only have a 2 pin fan header, where the normal one has the standard 4 pin header for the artic cooling cooler to plug into. I just went to my local Frys store and got the Diamond 6870 for $229. And you do not need to buy the extra vrm kit. You get all you n...

6870 and Artic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro
I got the Artic cooling Twin turbo installed on my 6870. And as you can probably guess, its dead quiet. even at 40% fan speed I hear nothing. Idle temps is about 30 load is about 50...they really do make the best coolers...

Re: Sparkle Gtx 560 Calibre eta?
Actually no I am not :-( I just noticed that is makes the dreaded capacitor squeal while gaming and a nice crunching noise as well. Its going back. That sparkle one would be perfect I think. Problem is I can't find a single piece of information on when its coming out. I may end up getting a stock Gt...

Re: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr Fits in Antec Solo
The stock cooler is pretty darn quiet. Its NOT as quiet as the Artic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro, but its close. The thing, if you get the Evga stock card and you find that its to loud for your tastes you can always get the Twin Turbo Pro on it anyway. Of course that's if it fits. I send an email to thei...

Re: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr Fits in Antec Solo
I'm waiting to see if the Artic Cooling Twin Turbo Pro fits on these cards. Then that is also a possibility. Those are dead quiet and cool very very well. But like I was saying the stock cooler is also very quiet IMO..

Re: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr Fits in Antec Solo
That's good to know. I actually just picked up the EVGA GTX 560 myself. For $249. And at idle the fan is dead quiet I don't hear it. I played a bit of BC2 and it did ramp up a bit but it was still quiet. Its much much quieter than the stock fan that I had tested on the 6950 and 6870. And with EVGA f...

Re: MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 comments
I read some reviews that said the stock reference cooler on the GTX 560's are one of the quietest coolers around. Almost dead silent and it also cools the card very well. Most reviews said their is no need for an aftermarket cooler. I may just get a EVGA 560 and be done with it..

Re: MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 560 comments
Wow I was just about to pull the trigger on this card too. So your saying its too loud? Every review I've seen says pretty much the opposite. Although I would take someone word from these forums before any review. I'm glad I saw this thread. Now I'm not sure what to get....

Re: XFX Radeon HD 6870 Black - quietest 6870
I only have 2 fans in my system so its very quiet. And my case sits on the floor. And it is slightly noticeable the sound from the video card that is. Its like a vibrating noise that you can hear coming from the video card. Its not loud, but to me its annoying. I've heard that the MSI Twin Frozr 687...

Re: XFX Radeon HD 6870 Black - quietest 6870
I have that 6870 xfx dual fan card now. Its much quieter than any stock 6870 card yes, but the fans do make a whoosh sound and like a low vibrating sound as well. The card is quiet but its not as quiet as say a 6870 fitted with an artic cooling twin turbo pro. I think I am going to returning it, mai...

Aw ok I got yeah. No the lowest it can go in either auto or manual mode is 20%. The card is quiet, much more than any 6870 stock cooler, but again its not as quiet as the artic cooling twin turbo pro.

Re: Xfx 6870 with Silent cooling?
Yes you can adjust the fan speed using the Ati CCC center. Just enable manual fan speed. And if you enable it the fan speed will stay at that speed regardless of how much load is on the card.

My new Build
All my new stuff is in my SIG. System is very very quiet and also really good temps. The only thing is the fans on the xfx 6870 card make a bit of a whoosh sound. Not as quiet as the artic cooling twin turbo pro, but close.

Re: Xfx 6870 with Silent cooling?
I got the card installed today. It is much quieter than the stock fans on either the 6870 or 6950 cards. Even at load its quieter. Temps are also great much better than stock. Only thing is, the fans do have a bit of a whoosh to them. They are not as quiet as the artic cooling twin turbo pro that I ...

Screw it. I actually ordered one. I did just get a 6950, which is quite loud and hot. I can still return it for a full refund. I'll try both cards and see which one I like better. I know the 6950 is faster, but for the games I play and the resolution they are very cose. The only thing is the 6870 sh...

Oh that's right Duh Hum now I wonder if I should get this for my XFX 6950. Does it come with all the ramsink and vrm's too? Looks like its about $65 that's pretty expensive. I had the twin turbo pro on my 5870 and loved it. But it came with everything and was like $40.
