CPU's themselves are becoming more and more efficient and cooler. The fact that a high end quad core can produce less heat than a single core pentium made only 3 or 4 years ago is testiment to the advances in efficiency. The consumers are driving it as well, people are becoming more energy aware and...

I like that theyve spaced the heatpipes evenly like they did with the Cu design. I often wonder how much the middle heatpipe on the rev b actually cools, seems too close to the others. Overall seems little has changed other than that and the corner of the fins. I can see installation being tricky st...

How hot should my CPU be?
I recently installed a ninja rev B onto my Intel E6600 (not OC). I used a 800rpm S_FLEX fan directed at the exhaust (a 1200RPM slipstream using a fanmate 2). My case in a Antec SOLO with 1 noctua fan as the intake. A second fan made little difference but since it was too loud i took it out. My CPU t...

Depending on what else your using it for, that quad isnt worth it right now. More expensive than same clocked duelcore, more heat. And no games that i know of utilize 4 cores well yet, most still optimize for 2. Not even crysis scales that well on 4 cores. Everything else looks fine though. could dr...

You'd hope so, the Orochi (which i think should be renamed orca, after the whales) is twice as heavy as other tower heatsinks. Id want the most secure mounting system possible.cmthomson wrote: I guess the question is whether the clips still provide the same amount of pressure they did with the original Ninja.

Maybe it's more expensive because of the black interior? Has the price of paint shot up recently? While i think the P182's design is better, the go faster arrows and random holes are far from ugly. I guess antec had to do something other than shave a few inches off to make it look at least sl...

Ok i concede that i might as well drop the DDR3 requirementMeans i can generally get a better suited board for my money. Ive been looking at this one: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 Think its the same version as strid linked to but without DDR3 support. Found alot of good reviews and has plenty of SATA ports, ...

Id have to see more pictures of that front intake before making my mind up. This photo in particular makes it look like an major design flaw, but in reality im sure it cools the drives and provides a decent airflow. http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/9426/80229526wd5.jpg The large fan is a definite ...

First off, my general tip for you would be to avoid a combo motherboard. And what would you accomplish by upgrading just your mother board (apart from better cable management, obviously)? I just want to disencourage you a little, lol, because it seems folly to me! Thanks for the links and advice, i...

Need a new mobo, any suggestions?
My current board was cheap when i got it 2 years ago and i want something more futureproof and with better layout and features. Motherboards are my achiles heel, i know very little about whats good and bad, who to avoid, good layouts etc. I saw the recommended mobo sticky, but im not sure which is r...

I had to laugh when in their latest CPU cooler roundup they get shit on their own forums after parts 1 and 2 (no-one knows how many they intend on doing) from people saying they havnt tested any of the most commonly used high performance heatsinks yet. So what does the next part look at? 6 (yes, 6) ...

Ive got a ninja plus rev B and was just making sure, is this the TR moutning kit that works with the rev B? I installed my ninja last week and it was very difficult to get it to securely stay in place, even now i dont think its quite on perfect, which the temps suggest, averaging around the high 40'...

Hope they dont make a Cu anniverary version as well! That thing is just ridiculously big! Id certainly want to re-enforce it with a bracket connected to the case. But they are clearly going for the extreme cooling crown, the thermalright 120 Extreme has been at the top for too long. This thing will ...
