Without Fan - 29-33c Still seems that the case is helping to transfer heat. This case has no fans whatsoever except for the fan on the HD, cpu fan and PSU. It also feels warm to the touch, unlike when it was on foam. When it was on foam it was quite hot. Noise difference? Nothing actually.. it's in ...

Maxtor drive experience... unbelievable!
I have a new (one platter) 40Gb Maxtor 2mb Buffer HD... I put it in my server pc in a 5.25" bay on a piece of foam so that it wont transmit vibrations to the case. The case front bezel had a bay cover removed so the hot air could escape outside. The drive temps (from SMART readings) were a whopping ...

Those temps seem to be very high... Are you sure the motherboard probe is working properly? I would recommend getting some kind of thermometer and sticking it inside the case and seeing really how hot it is inside. What exactly are you using for the exhaust? Only one 120mm fan? Did you cut off the g...

Help! Pc making whiney noise?
My pc is making a high pitch noise... I removed everything from it except CPU+PSU and ran it.. still makes the noise... I took out the PSU and put my ear to it... doesn't seem to be coming from that... Could my motherboard be making the noise?
Help.. anyone with former experience with this thing.

I think you need pretty high heat.. like 85-90c (for some epoxies). So heating it up is not an option in my opinion... Will kill the CPU. Put it in the freezer in a bag. If you can get a vacuum bag then even better. I don't think it will suffer from condensation if it isnt put against one of the fre...

Well from what people around here say... the Panaflo 92mm aren't that silent. From my personal experience, the Zalman 92mm EVEN with resistor is not silent at all. My recommendations: 1. Forget intake. Work on exhaust. Negative pressure will pull air inside. 2. Remove 92mm fan from HSF, and put 80mm...

Get any cheap 40mm fan and undervolt it to 5volt. No one said you can't use 60mm fans as well... so it wont fit perfectly.. so what? :) Just an example for a potential fan: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_YS_Tech_60.html Or... Get thermal paste adhesive and glue a nice big he...

Die Chieftec Fan holders! (w/pics)
Well, after I managed to break one of the blue fan holders and almost break the second one... I decided to make myself a new fan-hold-case-part-thingy. One reason being the obvious, those fan holders stink. Second - I can put vantec fan dampeners instead! Plus it's an opportunity to get used to modd...

Save your money and don't buy a northbridge HSF... who needs one? Mine barely gets warm... ever. Upgrade your CPU heatsink instead... preferably to something with copper or a nice Zalman 7000 hsf? May also give you a nice potential for overclocking. Also instead of getting 2 fanmates how about getti...

Where can I read up on that stuff dude? Sounds like very interesting material. BTW, if I use Sound dampening material it can seriously cut down on the high frequency whine that fans make. So 2x80mm + dampening is a good way to go. Anyway, I have purchased 10 Panaflo L1A's from SVC and should be gett...

80mm fans have less deadzone (when in regards to blowing on specific things such as PSU's and CPU's).
And If i recall correctly... 2 fans at the same db running together cause for a 3db increase, not 6db.

For most PSU's, in most systems, 7 volts for the fan seems to work. You get much more airflow than 5 volts, but hardly any more noise. (I've had an Enermax 365 running with a 7v'd L1A for better than 2 years) What happened to it after 2 years? ;) I have the following thingies in my system: p4 1.8a ...
