I installed Speedfan on Windows 7 x64 but the problem I have is getting it to run on startup with Windows. I had it running on startup in Vista but forgot how it was done. I thought there was a box to check for starting with Windows, but there isn't and so must be another way. How do you get it to s...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but I think I have decided. I'll go for the SOLO. The only thing it lacks, for me, is the P182's front door, which would help protect some sensitive buttons, block sound from a noisy optical drive in operation and add a great touch of style. Also, I could have t...

This thread is one of the biggest e-drama threads I've read in a long time lmao gave me a good laugh. Let's get this out of the way: the whole argument about the simulated sign wave is downright silly. Here's the thing JVM, when input electricity is messed with in anyway (as in not coming right out...

Hey JVM, guess what, Sea Sonic just said their PSUs have zero problems with simulated sine waves so you shouldn't worry about any compatible issues. Feel better? hey, just wondering, where are you from? El Jefe, Long story short, JVM made issue of UPS simulated sine wave and Sea Sonic units will or...

You mention the P182 but what about people such as rpsgc interested with a Solo? The standard hot box testing result applies. Nothing special about PSU cooling in the Solo. It's simple enough to summarize: 1) Keep the immediate temperature around the PSU to under 25C and the fan won't start up till...

So when did Seasonic tell you their X series is compatible with simulated sine wave? What is your point of that article? "Of course they didn't answer on Saturday you nut." You are the one who said "Hey JVM, guess what, Sea Sonic just said their PSUs have zero problems with simulated sine waves so y...

Oh, and by the way, I have the simulated sine wave UPS shown in my signature and it works perfectly with the Enermax MODU+82 PSU in my signature. The question remains are the Sea Sonic X650 and X750 compatible with simulated sine wave? The Enermax MODU+82 works without issues with simulated sine wa...

All sounds very good, Mike, but I am quite satisfied at present with my Enermax MODU82+ in the Solo. However, in the future, when doing a new build, I would consider the Seasonic X series if I knew they were compatible with simulated sine wave, and I am certain others would like to know that as well.

As I told you previously, the Enermax manual states compatibility with simulated sine wave. Is that so hard to understand? The man I spoke with from Enermax said their previous model, an older Infinity, also active PFC, was not compatible, and he said the MODU+82 was compatible as stated in the manu...

I think besides of that ripple development vs. load controller IC changing operating modes is reason also for that insensitivity of efficiency to low load. (88.8% @ 10% load) I imagine others who use a UPS would also be interested. I'm not... sine wave UPS. This issue of compatibility with UPS is e...

Just a followup to my post above, I decided to ask Seasonic if there were any issues with a UPS operating with simulated sine wave, which was a question I asked Enermax and was assured there wouldn't be any problem. The fellow from Seasonic said he didn't think there would be an issue with any UPS,...

I should add that sizing and duct work have a bearing on the amount of noise you hear from central air vents. If you have an over-sized central air system, yes, it would be noisier than one just doing what you need. Plus, I have the vents in ceiling as opposed to walls or floors. Since I have oil ho...

One other noise that no one mentioned is the ticking/pinging from baseboard heat and that does annoy me, makes me want to move to Arizona. Then you will have to deal with the noise from AC. At some point, even if you don't hear the unit or the fan itself, you will be annoyed by the airflow... I hav...

"Now, the company also told us temperature will determine the fan speed, so the fan may not turn off in a particularly cramped or poorly ventilated system." However it's likely most of these are going into P182-type cases where they have their own thermal zone. I doubt it. Many have read the review...

Sorry, I forgot to add some very important information. The CyberPower unit I recommended is simulated sine wave. If your PSU is an older active PFC design, or even if it isn't an older design, you should check with the manufacturer about compatibility with simulated sine wave. My Enermax is an acti...

price is realy good. I just don't know how reliable Cyber Power is comparing to APC - I've never heard of that brand... :( You get a three year warranty. Check out the comments at Newegg and compare to APC. I did a lot of research before deciding on CyberPower over APC. For one thing, the comparabl...

Re: Quiet UPS ?
I've tested 2 of APC BackUPS 500VA and they were quiet. I've tested 4 of APC BackUPS 650VA and everyone of them was "squiling/buzzing" while it was 20 - 60% loaded. I need more then 500VA (300W), so I cannot use fist type. Is there any suggestion for quiet UPS 650VA - 1000VA ? Why not buy a more po...
